About This Listing
The small historic building is located in the fortified village of Sacrofano, a town of about seven thousand inhabitants to twenty kilometers from Rome. In front of the church of St. John the Baptist dating from the twelfth century, the house is on three levels with a total of 180 square meters. It consist of four bedrooms, one with fireplace, other with a small terrace with views of Rome and another with a loft / study, two bathrooms, a dressing room, a large living room-kitchen. Sacrofano is part of the Park of Veio, the Etruscan area between the Via Cassia and the Flaminia. Two stations on the railway line Rome-Viterbo, linking the country with Rome. Both stations are accessible by buses that leave from the main square. The trip is half an hour for arriving at the terminus of Piazzale Flaminio. From there, Piazza del Popolo, Piazza di Spagna, Piazza Augusto Imperatore, Piazza Navona, in short, the entire historic center of the Eternal City, you can visit on foot.
The surroundings of Sacrofano are very interesting for hiking, trekking, horse riding (there are many riding schools) or mountain biking. With a car you can visit countries rich in charm and history of the Tiber valley, arriving in just over half an hour to the Bracciano lake or sea of Fregene.
Il rispetto degli oggetti, dei libri, dei quadri e degli arredi della casa,
Our stay in Sacrofano was brilliant. The house is beautiful and spacious. It has real character and great style. It is cosy and wArm. Susanna was brilliant and so helpful. She organised a driver from and to the airport, even though our flight to Italy was about 6 hours late. Susanna waited up until we arrived at midnight. She kept in contact with us throughout our stay and waved us goodbye. It is easy to get from Savtofsno yo Rome and very cheap. The bus timetable is a bit restrictive, however once you have got the hang of it, it is easy. We had dinner at the ' Due Archi' which again was lovely.
All in all a wonderful experience and thank you so much Susanna.
It was very nice when we arrived. Susanna and Alberto are every nice persones. We get a good Italian coffee with good cookies . They show us the beautifull house which is very creative interior and every peace is lovely in these house. We had a good time there to see Rom, the beach and people.
Really charming area. It's an old city that's very pretty and has a lovely atmosphere. Lots of good restaurants close by. Susanna and Alberto's place is fabulous. It's not modern decor if that's what you're looking for but it is quirky and fun. As a family of five we had plenty of space, could easily take 7 people. Local swimming pool is glorious in the summer. Be careful if you're using local buses and trains though not to miss the last bus home from Sarcofano station...
The house is very beautiful and is in the middle of a very beautiful medieval town. Susanna and Alberto are very attentive and the restaurant in Sacrofano (the own that received around 500 people for a dinner after the horse running) is the best one we did during our stay in Italy. I definitely recommend it.
Susanna's place was PERFECT! We stayed in Sacrofano for a month. The apartment felt like home. It is on several levels which adds to its charm. The kitchen was very functional. The shower was powerful and the beds were very comfortable. We stayed with our 2 children and had more room than we needed.
Everything you need is in walking distance. The kids loved the play area where kids gather and adults visit the bar/snack shop most evenings. Rome is a train ride away. We truly loved getting the feel for living like an Italian, and not just a tourist.
We highly recommend this place!
I have been to Sacrofano a few times now, and this has been the best place I have stayed at. It is right in the old town and the house itself is very cosy. I recommend anyone coming to Rome to stay in a more relaxing environment to stay in Sacrofano and this home. Sacrofano is also one of the nicer towns outside of Rome. Close to shops, bars and anything else you may need. This home also has very fast internet for making those calls back to home.
