The small historic building is located in the fortified village of Sacrofano, a town of about seven thousand inhabitants to twenty kilometers from Rome. In front of the church of St. John the Baptist dating from the twelfth century, the house is on three levels with a total of 180 square meters. It consist of four bedrooms, one with fireplace, other with a small terrace with views of Rome and another with a loft / study, two bathrooms, a dressing room, a large living room-kitchen. The villa sleeps 7/9. TV and internet connection. Shops, banks, restaurants and pizzerias are very close and accessible on foot.
Sacrofano is part of the Park of Veio, the Etruscan area between the Via Cassia and the Flaminia. Two stations on the railway line Rome-Viterbo, linking the country with Rome. Both stations are accessible by buses that leave from the main square. The trip is half an hour for arriving at the terminus of Piazzale Flaminio. From there, Piazza del Popolo, Piazza di Spagna, Piazza Augusto Imperatore, Piazza Navona, in short, the entire historic center of the Eternal City, you can visit on foot.
The surroundings of Sacrofano are very interesting for hiking, trekking, horse riding (there are many riding schools) or mountain biking. With a car you can visit countries rich in charm and history of the Tiber valley, arriving in just over half an hour to the Bracciano lake or sea of Fregene.
The house is very beautiful and is in the middle of a very beautiful medieval town. Susanna and Alberto are very attentive and the restaurant in Sacrofano (the own that received around 500 people for a dinner after the horse running) is the best one we did during our stay in Italy. I definitely recommend it.
Susanna's place was PERFECT! We stayed in Sacrofano for a month. The apartment felt like home. It is on several levels which adds to its charm. The kitchen was very functional. The shower was powerful and the beds were very comfortable. We stayed with our 2 children and had more room than we needed.
Everything you need is in walking distance. The kids loved the play area where kids gather and adults visit the bar/snack shop most evenings. Rome is a train ride away. We truly loved getting the feel for living like an Italian, and not just a tourist.
We highly recommend this place!
Great beautiful house! Cozy and comfortable. The special charm attached several fireplaces. Friendly hostess. It was nice meeting her and staying in apartment.
I have been to Sacrofano a few times now, and this has been the best place I have stayed at. It is right in the old town and the house itself is very cosy. I recommend anyone coming to Rome to stay in a more relaxing environment to stay in Sacrofano and this home. Sacrofano is also one of the nicer towns outside of Rome. Close to shops, bars and anything else you may need. This home also has very fast internet for making those calls back to home.
Beautiful place in a great location close to both Rome and the countryside. We stayed with several people participating in a summer workshop for over two weeks and enjoyed the atmosphere immensely. Gracious and responsive hosts. Recommended!
