Old ryad of a caïd located in one of the best areas of the Medina: the Sidi Abdel Aziz.Very close proximity of the souks, the Ben Youssef Madrasa, the Museum; central to restaurants, cafes and places recommended for visiting!
Nested in the heart of the old medina of Marrakech and few minutes away from D'Jema El Fnaa main square, Dar Saria, the 16 pillars house, welcomes you to make you discover the hidden charms of the unique red city of Morocco. Our home is an ancient Caïd’s house which explains the particular care given to the ornamentation of the pillars’ capital surrounding the patio.
Built according to oriental houses traditional plan, all rooms open up onto a central garden. This little intimate palace singularize itself by thick walls carved with inscription to Allah’s glory and marble ground to reflect light and to refresh during summer.
Two suites and a double bedroom are soberly decorated, with hunted trinkets, local art craft and beautiful ethnic pieces also revealing our taste for Black Africa. The patio is planted with a four season lemon tree and a bougainvillea throwing its red flowers to the well of light. The terrace painted with tones of the desert offers towards South a panoramic view on the Atlas snow and closer towards East, the elegant minaret of Ben Youssef Mosque.
All entering Dar Saria climbs few steps to paradise…

Travelers have access to all the riad: patio to the roof terrace!
Sidi Abdel Aziz district is very central and bustling shops of all kinds: antique and carpet shops, restaurants, cafes, jewelry shops and scarves: it's a very lively and colorful world where you can find everything you like.
Access to small taxis is at Dar el Bacha, 5 minutes walk from the house!
Everything worked out perfectly - pick-up at the airport, handing us over to priceless Ahmed. Cècile, beside your place, Ahmed and Bouchra are jewels. Ahmed will organize anything possible, he even fixed to hire the traditional donkey-carts with drivers to get us around the medina - much to the amusement of everyone out there, and much to the relief of my over seventy year old friends who were not too well on foot.
The place is as beautiful and clean as it looks on the pictures and we ate the best food during our whole stay cooked by Bouchra. Very worth the experience.
The smell downstairs can be a bit unpleasant at times, but upstairs and on the roof your fine.
Cecile was very helpful throughout the booking process and sent through tips and all the information that I needed. Once I arrived Ahmed, the manager at the villa organised to meet us at the taxi stand and help with our luggage. Ahmed was most helpful and incredibly kind. He made our stay. He was always on hand to help with anything we needed and would check in throughout the day and night to make sure we were ok.
The riad was exactly as in the pictures- it was lovely and the rooms decorated beautifully.
We felt very take care of and would highly recommend staying here and will be back!
The Riad was beautiful and clean, and wonderfully styled and presented. I wish we had stayed a few more nights!
Ahmed was courteous and helpful, a real gentleman.
The ryad is a stylish, peaceful and calming home. We particularly enjoyed it after a long day wandering around the overwhelming Marrakech. Ahmed and the local lady who worked in the house were super helpful and friendly. Every day we had our room warmed by real wood fire and have breakfast prepared. We were a group of 6 and we sometime got a bit demanding. Ahmed and the lady responded to all of our requests from buying stamps, booking cars, to searching last minute spa for us. We even had the lovely experience of cooking our own tagine at a local kiln assisted by these friendly locals. It was definitely a great place to stay and we sincerely thank them for taking good care of our needs at our stay!

We, my husband and I, are travelers and we like to welcome guests in the african way where the host is always a envoy send by god!
We also have a bnb in Hoeilaart (close to Brussels) where we live, my husband and I, in a splendid "art nouveau"house in the country.
