Hans and Deirdre are the most pleasant, welcoming and entertaining hosts you could imagine, with a beautiful home to boot.
Situated off Camden Street, there's a great range of pleasant pubs, trendy bars and quality reasonably priced restaurants, almost literally on the door step, and away from the main touristy drag.
Just hoping they might have us back one day!
What an enjoyable stay! Hans and Diedre are lovely people, and they clearly relish their role as BnB hosts. Breakfast is a treat: perfectly-cooked poached eggs, served up with lashings of enjoyable conversation. Apparently their record for a breakfast conversation is 3 hours - and if I hadn't had a fully day's work ahead of me I'd have been tempted to try and break that ;-)
The house is very nice and the location great: a quiet side-street, yet just 2 minutes' walk from busy Camden Street, with its eclectic selection of reasonably-priced restaurants.
I intend to stay again, but judging from their full calendar, it might be a while before I can book in again at short notice.
Hans and Deirdre were great hosts, they were very helpful and Hans even took me to the bus station. I had a wonderful time in Dublin and the house was amazing, the rooms are nicely furnished and welcoming. Hans and Deirdre offered me a very delicious breakfast and we had a nice conversation. Everything made me feel right at home. I highly recommend this place. If I have the chance to return to Dublin, I will surely stay with Hans and Deirdre again! Thanks a lot!
My daughter and I spent three nights in Dublin in Hans and Deirdre's house. It was amazing. Beautiful, light, large and quiet room--super comfy and a delicious breakfast every morning. Hans is full of information on places to go and see in Dublin. Perfect location as the #16 local bus from the airport (3.10 Euros) stops on Camden---a 3-minute walk to the house on Pleasant Street. If you take the AirCoach or AirLink is costs between 6-7 Euros and then you still have to catch a local to their house--so time wise it is about the same, but a lot more expensive. Lots of good restaurants very close by! We'll definitely stay there when we return to Dublin. Thanks so much Hans and Deirdre!!!
It seems a bit silly to repeat all of the wonderful things everyone else has said, so I'll just add:
On our next trip to Dublin we will specifically plan so that we can stay with Hans and Dierdre. Their home is beautiful, and they take wonderfully good care of their guests. Stay here if you can.
Staying with Hans and Deidre really was a great experience in so many ways. Their home is in a historic part of Dublin with an easy walk into the city as well as being close to many restaurants in the area. Staying in a beautiful period house is a real treat and as well as being offered a lovely huge room, I was also welcome to use their gorgeously decorated living room to relax and watch TV. But most of all, Hans and Deidre really care for their guests, I was treated to a delicious breakfast, with great conversation, and fresh water was put in my room every day. They were incredibly helpful if I needed any directions or recommendations for restaurants. They offer a really wonderful stay in Dublin and I would love to go back
I had an excellent experience with Hans & Deirdre. They were a lovely hosts; they were so nice, friendly and willing to help for anything. the house is very well located in a good zone, very calm at night. It`s near to a supermarket, Bars, several restaurants, Tourist attractions, bus stop, and within a walking distance to the temple bar as well.
The room was clean and spacious. The experience was absolutely perfect and I definitely would return to this house in future visits.
I enjoyed my stay at his apartment therefore, I highly recommend for anyone planning to visit Dublin.
We had the best time ever with Hans and D! All the reviews spoke true. They are the best hosts in Dublin - so warm and so charming. The house is absolutely lovely and the room and bathroom were gorgeous. We could walk everywhere. I will most definitely stay with them next time I'm in Dublin!
The hosts are very communicative from the very moment you make an inquiry and after you book. Breakfast is nice to share with the hosts. There may be other guests on your floor sharing the bathroom. During my stay I was the only guest in house. There is also a sitting room with a TV down the hall that guests can use. The hosts have great material to help visitors plan their time in Dublin, including a variety of maps and guide books. The location is rather central, on the south side of the Liffey and north of the Grand Canal. From here you can walk to the main sites of Dublin easily. The bed is very comfortable and the hosts keep their house very clean, comfortable, and homey. This is the best stay I've had with airbnb so far.
If you think all of the 5 star reviews are too good to be true... they aren't! The house is amazing and in a very central and convenient location, close to the city centre and also to loads of nice restaurants and pubs; the room we stayed in was great and had everything we needed including towels, Wifi and ridiculously comfortable beds; and last but definitely not least Hans and Deirdre are lovely. They are very welcoming, friendly and really sweet - my friend's first comment to me after we met them was "I want to have that kind of relationship in a few years time!" :) I can't end this review without saying that breakfast and Deirdre's scrambled eggs in particular are delicious. Unfortunately on our second morning we were slightly "diseased" from the previous night's pub crawl and so couldn't eat very much... Something we will regret for the rest of our lives I'm sure!
Thanks for a wonderful stay Hans and Deirdre!
