Classic Beach House
Charming older style beach house. Open plan living, dining and kitchen. Retro furnishings and crockery. Fusball and board games. Large verandah to laze around on and read books. Bodyboards , wetsuits, fishing rods, snorkeling gear, petanque boulle. One block from the shops/cafes, 5 min walk to the front beach, 10 min walk to the surf beach. Open fireplace, Aircon/heating.
I am an easy going guy who likes art, music, running, walking, boating and going to the movies. I have owned the house for over 20 years and have used it as a holiday destination during January. I recently have had a seachange and now live and work in Sorrento with my partner Juliet.
We live in the apartment below that has its own separate entrance.
The seaside village of Sorrento is one of the most popular and pretty holiday escapes on the Mornington Peninsula. Sorrento”s position at the southern extremity of the peninsula at the entrance to Port Phillip Bay provides a sweeping outlook. The town is known for its historic buildings, cafés, shopping and resident population of Bottlenose Dolphins.
Guests have the whole of the upstairs (main) house, the front verandah/deck and are welcome to use the back garden.
Interaction with Guests
I try to meet the guests on arrival and then stay out of their way. I like guests to feel as if it is their own home.
I love that Sorrento has the two coasts to choose from. Rugged ocean back beaches on one side and calm front beach on the other. There are tons of activities to choose from including swimming, surfing/bodyboarding, snorkelling, fishing, sailing/boating, bush/beach walking, rock pooling, swimming with dolphins, golfing, tennis, shopping, cinema, wining/dining or doing absolutely nothing in beautiful surroundings.
We are an easy walk from the main street shops and the beaches. Guests are welcome to use my bike. The bus stop is in our street.
If you are staying on a Sunday night and I am not around I would appreciate if you could put the bins out. Thanks.
We had a wonderful three night stay at Neil's house. It is a very homely and welcoming space, perfect for a family gathering. Highly recommended.
Great stay at this cabin. A bit rustic, though location is great. Easy to get to town, back beach etc. Place is clean, plenty of beds, well set up for a weekend away. Perfect for all seasons/weather. Worked very well for us and would recommend this place.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Neil's house. It was homey, nice and airy and light, but private. Neil welcomed us when we arrived and allowed us a late check ou on departure. We enjoyed having meals on the private deck too! We would return to Neil's house if going back to Sorrento.
We had the pleasure of meeting Neil on the first day. He's a great guy - very welcoming and easy going.
The house is beautiful. Ideally located between both beaches and very close to town. The kitchen and living area are bright and spacious, and the beds are very comfy.
The outside space is great too - perfect for beers and BBQs.
We had an amazing time in Sorrento and can't wait to go back one day.
Our group of four friends absolutely loved Neil's beach house. It's in an excellent location close to all the shops, comfy beds, lots of kitchen essentials like Olive oil, coffee etc, big DVD and book collection. Neil was lovely and helpful. At first I was concerned about Neil living under the house but it is completely private. I would stay here again anytime.
The host was very welcoming. He responded to emails promptly and allowed a late check out. The location of the property was perfect and it was as described on the website.
We had a great stay at Neil's beach house, the place had every thing we needed & the beds & pillows were really comfortable. Good selection of DVD's for bad weather days.
Great location, only a few mins walk to the beach & main shops!
