The bedroom is our extra room and has been converted to our office. We have a BRAND NEW full size mattress in there for your enjoyment. The room and our condo are smallish, but actually quite cozy.
We provide fresh linens and towels.
We also have two lovable siamese cats named Chloe and Clementine. They are very friendly and sweet; and will stay out of your room if you ask them nicely.
You'll have access to the living room, washroom and kitchen. Make yourself at home!
Interaction with Guests
We work kind of odd hours, so there's a good chance one of us will be around most of the time. If you wanna hang with us, we'd be happy to chat. If not, it's all good.
Uptown is a historically rich neighborhood. For over a century, Uptown has been a popular Chicago entertainment district, which played a significant role in ushering in the Gilded Age, the Lyceum Movement, the jazz age, the silent film era, the swing era, the big band era, the rock and roll era, has been a filming location for over 480 movies, has ties to significant spectator sport athletes and organizations, including the Chicago Blackhawks and three Olympic figure skaters, as well as theater, comedy clubs, dance performers who later became nationally famous, and even "The People's Music School," a needs-based, tuition-free music school for formal classical music training.
A very popular tourist destination, the Uptown Entertainment District is home to various music venues, nightclubs, restaurants and shops. The Uptown Entertainment District is now experiencing a revival, with new restaurants and shops opening every year. Uptown Square, at the center of the Uptown Entertainment District, was designated as a National Historic District on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000. Uptown is also a stop for Chicago Gangster tours, with many locations tied to infamous gangsters such as John Dillinger, Al Capone, Machine Gun Jack McGurn, Roger "The Terrible" Touhy and others. Venues include: the Aragon Ballroom, the Riviera Theater, the Uptown Theatre, Green Mill Cocktail Lounge, Argyle street Asian restaurants and shops, the Rainbo, the Arcadia Ballroom and the 5100 Club.
Amazingly close to lots of public transit options!
1 block from the 92, 147 (Downtown Express), 146 and 151 bus lines
2 blocks from the 36 bus line, a Divvy bike-share station, the Argyle Red Line Train Station and the lakefront path (great for running, biking and walking)
3 blocks from the 81 bus line
There is free street parking that is pretty easy to come by during the day, but definitely a little more challenging at nighttime.
Getting here from either airport is pretty easy, it just takes a while as the airports are pretty far outside of the city.
Other Things to Note
We're only one block from a brand new amazing grocery store called Mariano's, which is great!
My husband and I are pretty relaxed, we just ask that you treat our house and our things with respect. We like to keep a clean place, so we are a Shoes-Off household...we'd like to keep the city dirt outside. :) Also, we don't care if you want to party, but please don't bring the party home. As far as the kitchen goes, you are welcome to use any of our utensils and pans. One more thing, I am allergic to seafood, so you can't cook or prepare any fish in the kitchen. Thanks! Also, no smoking or drugs in the house.
Brandon and Dominic are approachable, multitalented, good looking couple with great taste.
I like what they've done with the place, you could tell how considerate they are.
The apartment is comfy, l particularly love the scent of my room.
Dominic and Brandon were great host. They made me feel very welcome and clearly were seasoned Airbnb host. Their home is spotless and the bed comfortable. Our paths did not cross much during my stay so I felt I had the place to myself. I will hopefully stay with them again when I go back to Chicago.
The hosts were welcoming and the apartment was very clean. The neighborhood was great for us, as we were seeing a show at the Riveria Theater, just a 10 minute walk away. There's also a great breakfast place right around the corner. The bedroom we stayed in was small but comfortable. Overall, the best we could have hoped for, considering we rented a room rather than a whole place, which we've never done before.
Brandon and Dominic were great hosts! The place was comfortable, very clean and enough space for two to easily fit in the bedroom. Really easy to get to in the city, located close to multiple buses and the red line train. Overall, highly recommend this place- had a fantastic stay!
Really enjoyed my stay with Brandon and Dominic. Dominic was super fast and helpful in the arrangements, and went the extra mile to accommodate my extremely late arrival, and was helpful in letting me know the best transport options. Their place is next to the express bus service (147) that rocketed me downtown in no time. The room is very clean and the house is immaculate.
Great place. Super close to transportation and safe walk. . . Even at night.
Would definitely stay here again.
Brandon and Dominic were excellent hosts - and their place was very nice (especially the remodeled bathroom). I spent most of my trip sightseeing and didn't get to enjoy the area around their home...but it was a great place to come and wind down after a long day of walking. The rail line is just a short walk down the street, and I felt safe walking there even late at night (although as they suggest, always stay alert as it is the city). Although Brandon was out of town during the first part of my trip, both him and Dominic were very responsive to texts/emails when it came time to checking in and it was nice to be able to chat with them on Sunday night. I will definitely consider staying with them again on future trips to Chicago!

When we're not at home here in Chicago, we think NYC is our favorite place to visit! We have decided to live a simpler life and bought our cozy little condo when we got married a couple years ago...we would rather spend our money on experiences rather than possessions.
