Were you a horse crazy kid who always wanted to stay in a barn? Are you traveling with a friend and want to share a room without sharing a bed? Is your pet with you on your travels? Are you up for something a little different? Then our barn room is for you. You'll have the bedroom with twin bunk beds, a few necessary appliances and the bathroom next door mostly to yourself except when we bring the horses in to feed them in the morning and evening.
The space
A few things to note: this room is literally in the barn, that means that a horse might stick its nose up to your window, or do something smelly nearby. Also we feed at about 6 AM and PM so there will be some noise and rattling of feed tubs at those times for about 1/2 hr and if the weather is bad, horses may be in during the day or night. They are all friendly and you can close your door, but you should know what you're getting into. You are allowed to bring a pet or two with you to stay in this room but we have dogs, cats, and chickens and your pets need to be under control at all times so everyone gets along and is safe.
Guest access
You will have a well outfitted kitchenette in the room with small fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and hot plate as well as the appropriate pots, bowls, utensils, etc to use them. There is shampoo, conditioner and soap in the bathroom along with a small basket of essentials if you forgot something.
The bathroom is next door to the bedroom and can occasionally be shared with HipCampers or someone in the barn. There is sanitizer spray and we ask everyone to give it a wipe down when they’re done.

Enjoy hanging out in front of the barn by the fire pit, use our lawn games or go for a walk on a dirt road nearby. We can point you in the direction of some good restaurants in Orange or Madison and there's plenty to do within a reasonable drive.

During your stay
We live in the farmhouse next to the barn and are here just about all the time. We can discuss use of laundry facilities if you're here for a longer stay.
