The Medellín barrio of Laureles features mostly residential, walkable neighborhoods where families gather, children play, and bicyclists take advantage of the bike paths scattered across the valley floor. A quick walk brings you to numerous shops, restaurants, cafes, the trendy Avenida Jardín, and nearby Metro stations to access the rest of the city.

Laureles is home to a private university and the city’s largest sports complex as well as Atanasio Giradot Stadium, the soccer arena where Medellín’s teams compete. If you’re looking for things to do, there’s plenty of options here. Laureles has a traditional vibe with friendly locals.

For dining options, head to Calle 70, known as La 70, for several restaurant options including local tipico treats, BBQ, steaks, and more. Also be sure to take a stroll through the two public parks which anchor Laureles, for a quick respite from the busy city.
