This neighborhood is one of the oldest neighborhoods in West Oakland. The people here tend to be nice and friendly.

There are a variety of coffee shops, KilaVolt & Milky Way that are around a 5–10-minute walk from here and 10th & Wood is just a few blocks further.

Mandela Food Co-op (organic local grocer & deli) is 1 1/2 blocks away and Donuts and Burgers, (good burgers) is right across 7th Street from the Bart Station.

Other retail stores such as Target, Nordstrom's rack, Ulta, and Pak N Save are about 10 minutes via Uber/Lyft.
