The mission heights apartment was in a great location in the Mission, came fully equipped and was a joy to stay at!! I was only supposed to be there a month and ended up enjoying my experience so much, I decided to stay an additional month! Annette was very responsive and answered any questions I had. I would recommend this apartment for anyone looking for a quick weekend getaway or for a longer period of time. Thanks for the great hospitality and providing me with a comfortable, homey experience in my time out here :)
The house is quite charming and overall a nice place to stay. I would recommend this place to anyone!
Honestly, after I stayed there for 5 weeks straight, I really thought about don't telling anyone how great this apartment is. Because this would make it much harder to get a future booking there. But: It is great! When you have to work in the Financial District the location can't be any better. If you would like to explore the city, the location is fantastic. Please give it a try and walk to the places you're willing to visit. It's worth it. Just try to avoid the Tenderloin at night. I even ran my first half marathon starting from the apartment at 5am, via the ferry building, up the coast to Fort Point at the Golden Gate Bridge and back. You will never forget seeing the city at the wake. The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, dishwasher, dryer, programmable heater, tv, a few DVDs and a lot of useful things left by visitors before you. Gino and Mario own the small 3-story house and are working at the shoe shop at the basement. One of them will give you the keys and a warm welcome on your arrival. Annette will do all the bureaucracy stuff with you, without any hassle.
Regarding the noise from all the restaurants at the Belden Place: It's true, but not this bad. The Financial District of San Francisco itself is always buzzing, and louder than other parts of the city. There is a kind of white noise the whole day. You'll hear cable cars, sirens, cars everywhere. When you open the window of the apartment you will mostly recognize a lot of roof conditioners and their fans. You will, somehow, get used to it. Escape to the Stow Lake in the middle of the Golden Gate Park or to the large beach area at the west coast if it is too bad.
Best grocery options can be found at "Whole foods market" (organic, local, vegan). Best pizza at "Patxi's" (try the vegan Chicago style). Best full vegan menu at "Herbivore". Best vegan sandwiches at "Loving Hut". Also very good is "Triptych" (especially if you get our super-engaged waiter and ask for local beers). For full american 70s style go to "Lori's Diner" (great burgers 24/7). Alternative: "Super Duper Burger". For great food and a long beer menu go to "Boxing room". If you are looking for good bread, visit the Ferry Building. Any more questions? Just ask!
This place was better than expected! I couldn't believe the amazing view that it had off the back porch. Will certainly be staying there again when I return to San Francisco.
It's an awesome place. Bed is super comfy. Has everything you need basically. Furniture, TV, silverware, towels, closet, pans, pots, George Foreman, one of those tabletop stove things, bottle opener, cork screw, fridge, microwave. Yea, staying here for 3 months and haven't had to buy a single thing for the house besides a surge supressor which I'll probably leave here for you. The whole process went very very well. It's pretty expensive, but yea, you get what you pay for. A+++ would stay again!!
Through our e-mail conversation Annette understod what we were looking for. Still, most of things were even better. It is not easy to come to a place you have not been to before. People asked us how we managed to find the right place in the right area. Our answer was: Annette helped us
Madeleine and Anders
The apt was as advertised. Spacious, clean and in a great location. Annette and Coila were very helpful throughout the entire process.
Very nice, clean, in a good location. Room is small but comfortable.
Great place, quiet street, perfect for small kids as we had on or trip. Place was clean and the place was well equipped - Kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms. Very happy with our stay.
I had a great stay at Gino's Cozy Getaway.
Before I got into the details - the absolute BEST thing about this place is the location - walking distance from pretty much everything, and the door of the building opens onto a lane that is crammed with excellent restaurants. So practical!
Annette was very friendly - I had a few unique requests and she was ultra accommodating. If you check in after the store downstairs closes, you will need to get your key from a lock-box. I found this to be quite easy to open, yet nearly impossible to close. This caused a bit of a hiccup but again nothing serious.
The room itself is small and basic - I would not try fitting more than 2 people in there - but it is clean and warm and it certainly does the trick. If you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs - the street can be pretty noisy.
Fresh towels are left out but be sure to bring your own soap & shampoo.
Thanks Annette and team for hosting me for my great week in San Fran!
