Sue and Wheeler are really sweet with great pets. I couldn't have found a better/safer place to stay the night. If you like gardens and being green, this is the place for you.
I've stayed with Sue and Wheeler several times now, and find them most delightful and knowledgeable company. The rustic atmosphere always makes me feel like I'm truly getting away from it all :)
Soolah is a fabulous host who kept in clear communication with me while I had to shuffle a few things around to deal with aching feet.
Soolah took me in and made me feel like part of the family! The room was cosy and warm and the bed was incredibly comfortable, but what made this visit stand out was the fantastic hospitality soolah and her partner displayed. Highly recommended for a home-like stay.
Hello there travelers,
This is my first time I used airbnb, hence my first review here, and I am not a reviewer, nor a yelper or anything like that, I always think I am too busy for that and I am. Nonetheless, since I plan to use this service regularly, and I will appreciate reading honest reviews from other users, and also because my stay with Soolah has exceeded my expectations (because I really was expecting to feel at home in someone else's home) well, I am writing this review.
First not only did she let me rent the room with the hiker fee, although I came for some hiking it was not long distance hiking, but she found that to qualify .') - I also emailed her like 20 times with questions (repeat, first time renting a non-hotel room) and she was incredibly responsive and helpful. I am so blessed to have found such great people on my first experience with airbnb. And thanks airbnb because now I am going to travel more often, even short distances (I live in CA). She even cleared a space for me in the fridge, let me do one load of laundry and let me walk her dog in the morning - hence my 'feel at home' comment.
The stay is actually 9 days 8 nights, I am out most of the day but I come 'home' to sleep in the lovely room, cozy, with a heater and lovely cats, nothing fancy, which I love, I love simple living and big hearts, and I found it here.
Well, I think that is enough for a first review, thank you so much to Soolah and family, including four legged extended family .') when I return to this side of the country, I will come here.
All the best,
This adorable cottage in the country is a lovely place to stay, not only because the accommodations are just right, but especially because Soolah is a wonderful hostess. Even the animals are warm and friendly. I personally love being awakened by a rooster after a good night's sleep, and the homemade breakfast that Soolah feeds you is delicious.
This is my second stay with Soolah. Her and Wheeler are so knowledgeable of the local area, and made us feel at home immediately! It's central to many interests in the area - Gettysburg, Sharpsburg, and all the hiking anyone could possibly want. We look forward to staying there again really soon!

About the Host, Soolah
We live in beautiful Cascade, Maryland but grew up in New Jersey. I am a hoop dancer and performer and really enjoy sharing the love of hoolah hooping with the public. I enjoy gardening as well and spending time at my home fixing it up and making it an interesting space. I tend to "explore" instead of hike and am available at times to show you around the area to some pretty cool places where I live. I enjoy Old World rustic style living and try to live as simply yet ecologically friendly making my "footprint" small in this world. I have great neighbors who are helpful and close by and I appreciate the friendships I have made in my life. Wheeler is an RN as well as an avid motorcyclist and loves to create leather artwork and Steam Punk costume pieces. We enjoy a Renaissance-like outlook on life and love to be creative. We both look forward to creating more!
