Important Notes
Wildlife Safety:
Since the property borders the Flathead National Forest, wildlife precautions are necessary. Please do not leave food or trash outside, and if you plan to hike, we recommend carrying bear spray (available on-site).
Road Access:
The cabin is located at the top of a well-maintained gravel National Forest Access road (NFA). Some portions may be bumpy, so we don’t recommend motorcycles or low-clearance sports cars. During winter, the road requires an AWD or 4x4 vehicle, such as a standard SUV or crossover.
We hope you’ll enjoy your stay and make the most of the cabin’s unique setting and amenities. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions!
Other things to note
Important Details About Your Stay
Access to the Cabin:
The cabin is located just under 12 miles from downtown Whitefish, with the last 2 miles being a well-maintained gravel road. While it's accessible year-round, we don’t recommend it for motorcycles that struggle with gravel or low-clearance sports cars. The road may have some bumps and dust, but we promise—the drive is worth it!
Winter Access:
During the snowy months, a vehicle with AWD or 4x4 is required due to snow and the slope of the road.
Safety Notes:
Please note that the cabin is not childproof and does not have safety gates, so keep this in mind if you’re traveling with little ones.
We are in bear country! To stay safe, please don’t leave food or garbage outside. If you plan to hike, we recommend carrying bear spray. We have some bear spray available—just let us know if you need it.
Internet Access:
Wondering if the internet is fast enough? Here’s a quick breakdown:
The cabin offers 20 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload speeds, which work well for:
Surfing the web on 2-3 devices simultaneously.
Streaming Internet TV or YouTube while someone else browses online.
What to avoid: Activities like downloading large files, video conferencing, and streaming HD content on multiple devices at the same time can slow things down.
For a better idea:
Video calls (one-on-one): 1.0-1.5 Mbps (down/up) for high quality.
Streaming: 3 Mbps for SD, 5 Mbps for HD.
Large group calls or 1080p video: These may not perform well if other devices are tasking the internet at the same time.
Overall, the internet is great for most vacation needs, including occasional work tasks, as long as usage is balanced.
We’re excited to host you and hope you enjoy your stay at our cozy cabin!
