The Space

The apartment is on the ground floor of a medieval building in the centre of Siena, in what it used to be the warehouse of a pilgrim hospice on the famous Via Francigena. It is fifteen steps away from the Baptistery and 2 minutes from the Duomo and the well known Piazza del Campo.
The room has a double bed and in the large living room, directly above a typical sienese historical alley, you will find the kitchen, equipped also with the dishwasher, free for use.
The bathroom has no window, but there is a fan that turns on automatically with the light on the shower, and here you'll find the washing/drying machine, free for use.

You have to be prepared to leave your car outside of the walls of the Siena, because the city centre is completely car-free (emergencies and residents excluded).
Nevertheless the area where my house is located, is very well served: there are several parking lots nearby, for those with the car who want to explore the breathtaking hills of the countryside surrounding Siena, but also a short walk from the major tourist attractions of the Old Town. You can easily find ATMs, pharmacies, bars, delis and supermarkets.
At the end of a charming night, after a good bottle of Chianti in one of the many little restaurants and bars in Piazza del Campo, it will only take a 5 minutes walk to find silence and quiet to sleep peacefully.

This is my home. I have lived here many years and I often return because there is still a big part of my life. Much of what you'll find around, has been brought in a number of movings for over 10 years and represents a piece of me. I like the idea of sharing it with my guests, because it's like through all the books, objects, pictures and the house itself, they are getting to know me. So please feel at ease, peruse the shelves, leaf through the books, read them, even ask me to borrow them and I'll tell you if I can give them away. I would ask though, that you treat with care and respect the odds and ends you find that I've spent my life putting together.

  • Stefania was a fantastic host. She gave me a very detailed email telling me exactly how to get to her, advice on various parking options and all the details we needed to get in. Once there she gave us a really fantastic document that detailed the best places to go for food, to see etc which were absolutely fantastic. Much better than the guide book recommendations.
The apartment is stunning. Very stylish, very relaxing but most of all what a fantastic location. You can't beat it. Highly, highly recommended to anyone wanting to stay in Siena from 1 night - 2 weeks!

  • We had a great time in Siena mainly due to the Palio but it was made extra special because of the wonderful apartment we were in. The location was excellent and so close to the centre of the old city we could get anywhere in no time at all. The apartment itself was wonderful, beautifully decorated and by European Airbnb standards very large.
We were met and introduced to the apartment by Guisi and she was very careful to explain everything to us. There was a special, surprise in that Stefania had left a very comprehensive guide on her recommendations on what to do, what to see and where to eat and drink plus there were little maps of each place relative to the apartment. This was an excellent feature and we tried several and have to report that the advice was good. Thank you Stefania and Guisi.

  • The apartment we rented from Stefania could not have been a better location in Siena. Close to everything and very spacious and well decorated. Stefania was great to work with and very helpful in all aspects of our trip from reservations to directions and even the guidebook. We had a wonderful first visit to Siena and highly recommend the Siena city centre apartment.

  • Sara's apartment in Siena was the best apartment we stayed at during our trip! We checked in with Sara's friend easily and really appreciated the list of local restaurants, shopping and sightseeing recommendations she left us. The apartment is large, cutely decorated and beautifully located in the middle of the city. The main bedroom's window is right on the street but there was not a lot of noise at night. We loved this place and wished we could stay longer, highly recommended!

  • Stefania's beautiful Siena apartment could not be more perfect for a relaxing break. The location, on a quiet street just moments from the Cathedral and Piazza, is amazing. The apartment is much bigger than i expected, and wonderfully cool and quiet. And Stefania's creative stamp is all over the place - filled with cool trinkets and artworks! The apartment is comfortable and feels like a real home from home. Perfect. xxx

  • I can't recommend this apartment enough! The space is amazing and for all the Air BnBs I have been to, this one has been the most spacious and well decorated, plus it has all the amenities you could ask for - Full Kitchen, Washer and Dryer, Fast wifi, a very responsive host and tons of space and charm.

Stefania was away when we stayed, but her friend Serena was very helpful. It is about a 10 minute walk from the bus station and the location in Siena can't be beat. You are steps from the Duomo and the main square.

You will love your stay here in Siena!!

  • Stefania's apartment was great! It's really well thought out and has everything you could need. The information she left for us was also very helpful and appreciated. The location was perfect.

The only issue we had was a bit of noise from the street on the weekend during one of the nights (which isn't too unusual for Italy) - apart from that, the area was quiet. Overall, we had a great stay!

  • Stefania's apartment is a hidden gem in the heart of Siena!! Absolutely perfect and can't wait to return. Stefania and her friend were excellent hosts and ensured we had everything we needed. Guidebook recommendations for parking and restaurants etc were spot on. Thanks soo much for letting us stay!! :-)

  • "Staying at Stefania's was a trully 'home away from home' experience. I really recommend her cosy and contemporary centrally located flat. It had everything we needed in a flat, an even though we were out and about most of the day, it felt great to have a nice and comfy place to get back to when tired. Thanks so much to Stefania for making your home available for us, appreciators of the small good things :)

  • Attractive, spacious and quaint apartment. Had to get used to the dark though but I guess that is unavoidable in the old centre of Siena. Great to be so central and in walking distance from everything including the clever escalator! We had a good time in the interesting and beautiful city of Siena, partly because we had this lovely place to stay!

I have a Master Degree in History of Art and at the moment I work for historical and photographic archives. In my spare time I like to get dirty restoring objects and pieces of furniture that I find in the streets on in marketplaces, to give them a new life in my apartment or for friends and relatives who share the same passion. I love running, sailing and biking because these activities keep me in contact with nature and push me to my limits and beyond.
