Great apartment in a safe area. Very spacious. 3min walk from the subway station and from the grocery stores. We had a wonderful time and for sure, we would like to come back here !!
Angela is a great host, she always makes sure you have everything you need.
You should definitely stay in this apartment during your trip !
The location was really close to the subway and also to convenience stores and a deli. It felt like a pretty safe area, although the street could be a little noisy and bright at night. The apartment had everything we needed - kitchen was well-equipped and everything was clean and in working order. Angela was really good at communicating quickly if we needed anything or if we had an issue. We would recommend trying the breakfast rolls from the deli across the street and the donuts from Dough - about 100 houses up Franklin Ave.
Merci encore Angela.
We had a great stay at Angela's place! Angela is very kind and helpful. If you need anything, you can always call her and she will help you out. The apartment itself is very well furnished. There is everything you need such as an iron or so. We also appreciated, that it was always very clean, as Angela comes once a week to change the sheets and to clean everything. The neighborhood is considered as quite rough, but we didn't notice any of it. It only takes less than 5 minutes to get to the local C train and about 10 minutes to go to the express A line, which is very comfortable. We would definitely recommend this place!!!
My friends and I stayed in Angela's apartment for 6 nights. The area isn't the greatest although we didn't have any trouble, however we were told by some cops not to be out late walking around, day time was fine but it can get rough at night. You just have to cautious and be completely aware of your surroundings at all times. Don't be distracted on your phone, playing games or have anything of value in the open. It is a gritty party of Brooklyn but with the subway only 2 blocks away it was fine. There are also a ton of NYPD officers at the subway at all times...take that how you want to. The apartment itself was very nice and clean. Lots of room and everything worked perfect! Angela is very kind and usually always around the neighborhood. If not then she's a call away and always picks up. Would I stay here again, more than likely. You really can't beat the price for a weeks stay but I'd definitely have to have someone with me. Not good for a girl to be alone in those parts.
We miss this place! Really cool spot to stay in Brooklyn. The area may look a little rough but it's so safe. There are really cool cafes nearby we liked Outpost and Bedford Hill. For cheap phili bagels for breakfast go across the road to the general store they are only $1. If you're around on a Saturday check out the Brooklyn flea market. Recommend staying at Angela's studio.
We had a very nice vacation in Angelas apartement. The apartment was clean and had everything we could've needed. The location was good with a short subway ride to either Manhattan or Brighton Beach. We had a little struggle trying to get in touch with Angela when we arrived but eventually it went great.
We have stayed here for 15days from 31st July to 15 August. The room is very nice, you have everything you need and you can ask for everything to Angela. She was very kindly because on the day of our arrival she waited for us until 1 a.m.!! The apartment is located next to the subway "Franklin Avenue" and you can reach Manhattan in about 20 minutes. The neihborhood is fine, it could be dangerous (our taxi driver sayed that) but in 15 days we loved it, we wouldnt leave it!!! Tip for italians: Bring with you an international adapter because not every adapter work well in USA. (We had to ask for an hairdryer to everyone!!) it was a lovely holiday and I recommend this appartament to any one Who love Brooklyn and want to save money. Thanks Angela!
I stayed at this lovely studio for six weeks (June-July) while I was studying in Manhattan and it was definitely a treat. 20 min on the train to Manhattan and 2 blocks (less than 5 min walk to the station) away from the C train - Franklin Ave station. If you like to walk, it's a 20-25 min walk to Barclay Center and Prospect Park. The location is close by a few grocery stores, a coffee shop, ice cream store, a small pharmacy, and etc.
The neighborhood is safe and quite a few families surround the area, it's actually right by a school. The neighbors are also friendly and I was lucky to be able to meet a few of them.
Angela was also a very kind and it was unfortunate I only got to meet her after a couple weeks of living in the studio but she was very accommodating and clear with communication whenever I had questions or trouble with something.
Mostly on weekend nights, the people who live across the street (they chat on their stoop daily, but it's not disruptive at all) would play oldies out of a car. If you don't mind the heat or don't mind listening to oldies as you get ready for a night in the town, I'd open up my windows!
Weekly housekeeping is part of the deal with this place so it was always nice to come home to new bedsheets, towels, and a clean carpet after I've made a mess from my chaotic studying. Laundry room is available downstairs in the basement of the first floor apartment for $1.25 per wash/dry.
The only problem I had was that it was quite noisy at night because trucks would consistently drive by (I'm assuming because the street is a essentially a main road around the area). I personally like sleeping with the windows open, but I was unable to do that here. --- That's NY for you.
Overall, this studio and the location is convenient to transportation, groceries, and clean. I'd love to stay here again! Thank you Angela! :)
