I have opened up another room on airbnb. This one has a private bath ,private entrance, with a deck off of the bathroom.Queen size bed, comfy down filled sofa, large enough to stretch out on,internet, internet tv,close to downtown, highways, schools. On the first floor, easy access. This is larger than the room on the second floor.there is also a Steinway model B in the living room that is available for guest use. This is a very unique house from the Tiffany lamps and stained glass windows and doors to the Morris wallpaper. You aren''t going to find this anywhere else in Providence. There is parking, gardens, and lots of art.I have a rose garden across the street with it's own writers shed.I also serve a full breakfast that changes daily.Anything from smoked salmon to steak and eggs with fresh fruit, juice sausage, ham, quiche You name it.Breakfast is until 9:00 . Please let me know in advance if you are not eating breakfast.
This room is now available .Please note that this can not be instant booked. Please contact me before booking to check availability Thanks Chip
This is a pretty low key home.Live and let live.I do expect people to respect the other people living in the house as there are also apartments that are rented out long term.I do make breakfast in the morning and it is helpful to let me knowv in advance what time you want it .I usually am out by 9:30 so please let me know in advance if you want breakfast later than that.I can also have breakfast ready by 6:30..If you are staying long term sheets are changed twice a week and there are plenty of towels just ask.I'm pretty flexible about check out time but let me know in advance if you are going to be later than 1:00.usually it's no problem unless someone else is coming in for the next night.
As we were looking for a place to stay in Providence while returning our daughter to her dorm at Brown, we couldn't bring ourselves to find yet another hotel. We have done this twice a year for 2 1/2 years, and we haven't found a hotel that meets our needs and feels just right. We stayed at Chip's Victorian B&B, and we now have our favorite place to stay.
The elegant, interesting, beautifully-appointed building is the most comfortable, fascinating museum you could ever spend the night in. Chip has thought of everything you would ever want in a B&B.
What a great host! The antiques in his collections lead you into conversations about Chip's interests and experiences that made our stay like visiting a friend you just met.
Breakfast was terrific, with beautiful place settings and textiles, making eating a real luxurious experience. It's a little like going back in time, but with modern conveniences, like free parking and comfy amenities. (I still want to know where you got those towels, Chip! I can't find them online!)
Our plan is to stay on Linden St. for each of our next visits to Providence. I can't wait to see the gardens in the spring!
House was gorgeous. Room was clean and well kept. Chip was SO hospitable and friendly. Very nice person with a great life story!
As far as i'm concerned this is THE place you should go to if you're staying in providence. The house was magical, i thought a legendary musical theatre performer was going to pop out of the walls and sing Chicago to me. The place is beautiful, and chip was thoroughly accommodating. Quickly answering his phone when i had a question before we arrived. Unfortunately, we had to leave in the morning without his raved about breakfasts. We will be back!
We enjoyed our stay, we where working all weekend but Chip had a delicious breakfast waiting for us in the morning. He has a great space and all around package deal. Easy check-in & parking.
Overall we had a great experience. Chip made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. He was casual and pleasant as he showed us around the house, set expectations and policies, and welcomed us.
The room itself was comfortable, decorative, and well appointed with HD TV, it's own thermostat, and a private bathroom. The private bathroom was spacious and well designed.
The neighborhood itself wasn't part of the attraction of staying here, though the house is really cool. Still, getting in and around Downtown Providence from Chip's place was incredibly easy. It seems like everything in Providence is about 8 min or 1 mile from everything else.
We ended up doing AirBnB this wkdn because hotels were totally booked. I think Comic-con was in town. We ended up much better off -- great private space, appointed even nicer than a hotel for less money. No brainer.
a treat for the eyes! Chip was a gracious host and breakfast was amazing! Definitely will come again!
This was a wonderful experience. Chip is an excellent host and made me feel very welcome, the room was lovely, and the breakfast is one of the best I've ever had.
