Jeff and Tiffany Eckhardt share a passion for hospitality and love to welcome fellow travelers to their beloved Burton, Texas. We fell in love with Burton before we ever had a dream to live here. Tiffany spent years as an antique dealer setting up at the infamous Texas Antiques Week. Through the business, she became friends with a couple who lived in tiny cottage in Burton. The first time she visited their home she can remember thinking just how lucky they were! Weary of life on the road as a dealer, Tiffany started to imagine a place where she could live and work. When she learned that her friend’s property in Burton was for sale, she knew she had to have it! There was a rainbow over Burton the Saturday after they signed the purchase contract. It was a sign! Jeff made the commitment to drive the long hours into Houston every day to his job as the Director of Radiology at Memorial Hermannn The Woodlands. The drive to Houston and the many projects he tends to around Flown The Coop has been a labor of love. Jeff loves the area and served on Burton City Council for 4 years. Tiffany opened the antique store, Flown The Coop March of 2015. She poured herself into curating an unique shopping experience for Burton. In November of 2018, she made the difficult decision to close her doors in order to welcome new opportunities. In March of 2020 she will be certified as a life coach and work full time helping women create a life they on their terms. The space that once was her store will be the future home of their second guest house. The Roost is the first guest house project for Flown The Coop. The project reminded us of how much fun we have creating. We have restored four historic homes in the course of our thirty year marriage. We both love repurposing unique finds into functional spaces and are not afraid of hard work. Everyone said we would be bored when we moved out to the country. That couldn’t be further from the truth. There is always something fun going on to fill our calendars. And we don’t have to go any further than our back yard when we want to relax on the hammock or take a walk in our dreamy little town. We are excited to welcome guests into our charming world.
