Welcome to this brilliant and comfortable house.
The house is in the centre of the Spa town of Harrogate. We are just across the road, 1min. from both the Turkish Baths and the famous Betty’s café. The rooms are comfortable and quiet and there is a spacious bathroom on each floor.
For those of you who are exhibiting at the Conference Centre or performing at the Royal Hall they are at the bottom of the hill, 5 mins walk, or if you are performing at the Wesley Chapel it is 1 minute away. There is also a theatre, cinema, and numerous restaurants and bars within 5 minutes walk of the house.
Breakfast is usually a selection of seasonal fruits either fresh fruit salad or poached, with cereals and yoghurt, followed by scrambled egg and smoked salmon, poached egg and spinach, or boiled eggs, and then toast and marmalade, jam, marmite, or honey, really, lots to choose from!
First we are opposite Betty's, famous for delicious pastries and coffee or light meals, and then there are any number and a huge variety of restaurants within 5 minutes walk of the house. Dinner? In Harrogate? No problem!
There is a TV, radio, hairdryer, and tea and coffee in all the rooms or by arrangement, and use of an iron and ironing board if needed.
There is a lane by the house where you can load and unload and then parking for one car by the house. If you would like to come by train, the station is 10 minutes walk away.
Harrogate is in the middle of the Dales with glorious wild walks from hilltop villages like Middlesmoor, where, it is rumoured, Lytton Strachey once stayed at The Crown. If you prefer a more serene splendour there is the National Trust’s Fountains Abbey where you could walk to Studley Royal along the water-side and back along the wooded banks, and the Woodland Trust has restored Hackfall Wood, a must for those of a romantic frame of mind. If you love gardens, the RHS gardens at Harlow Carr are only an hour’s walk from the house. Harrogate’s famous Stray is across the road for a morning or an evening stroll.
If you book the house for fewer than 4 nights, it has to be on a bed and breakfast basis and there is no access to the ground floor except for breakfast. This option will no longer be available after September 30th. After that it will be possible to book the whole house for self catering for 4 nights minimum.
There house is 10 minutes walk from the Train and Bus Station which are next to one another on Station Parade.
We are in a Pretty Terrace house with a garden, on a hidden road, Cambridge Terrace, that runs off Parliament street between the Nationwide and Daniel’s shoe shop, it goes under the building and is easy to miss but it’s opposite and just below Betty’s.
From the station you look across the road to James street which runs between Gap on the RHS and Carluccio's and Farrow and Ball on the LHS. walk to the end of the road and across the green with the cenotaph on it, cross to Cafe Nero and walk round to the Left where you will find Cambridge Terrace between Daniel's shoe shop and the Nationwide shoe shop. We are the first house in a terrace of 5, reverse in to the little unmade lane at the side of the house and park to unload your things.
Other Things to Note
The self catering whole house option is available for a minimum of 4 nights and there is a 50% returnable damage deposit added to the basic price.
This is a no smoking home but otherwise it is just a matter of making sure everyone can relax and get the most out of their stay.
