A lovely apartment in beautiful surroundings with an impressive view over the Bosporus. Mina's mom welcomed us very friendly and helpful with delicious cake and börek and also the contact with Mina was very nice and helpful, we would love to come back and can only advice people to book this wonderful place.

My husband and I just returned from our stay at this gorgeous property and I can't say enough good things about it. The view is one of the best in the city and would cost much more if this were a hotel. A huge bonus is the fact you are surrounded by Byzantine ruins. The entire property is historical and fun to explore. Mrs. Kolman was so welcoming and accommodating. She is a very sweet lady and we felt fortunate we had the opportunity to meet her. The property is in a nice, higher class area of the city and is safe so ladies traveling alone, don't hesitate to book. Another plus is there are no mosques in the immediate vicinity and although we spent much of our time visiting mosques, we weren't awakened at dawn by the Call to Prayer like we were during our 2 nights in Sultanahmet. There are plenty of cafes, restaurants, and markets within walking distance so everything you need is closeby. Be aware they are a little pricey considering this is a high end area. There is a bus stop just off the property but we opted to take taxis which were very easy to find as they drive past every 30 seconds or so. Every taxi we hailed in this neighborhood was legitimate and did not try to scam us (many in the touristy sections of town will try to scam visitors). Staying here was an absolute treat and very much a getaway from the hustle and bustle of the main city. I would definitely recommend staying here!

We were made thoroughly welcome from the start and for the rest of the six days we stayed. Even the cat was friendly! The location was as described, elevated, the views across the Bosphorus splendid. The studio apartment (the accommodation) is very comfortable, private and well-appointed. A great place to return after a busy day in hectic Istanbul with all its wonders and sorrows.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Room on a Hill. The place is clean, quiet and very cozy. The wifi is excellent as well. The view from the terrace is absolutely gorgeous. I want to go back just to spend more time on the terrace. The studio is close to Ortakoy and Bebek which we very much enjoyed visiting. Thank you for letting us stay at your house and being such a wonderful host. Ms. Kolman's mom is absolutely lovely and welcoming. This was our first time using Airbnb and we had a very positive experience. Thank you.

We were made to feel very welcome. For us, the location was important. It is situated in a great local away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It was like a quiet sanctuary to return to, even though the traffic from the city each day made it slow going. ~ The view and the quiet made it all worth it! What friendly and caring hospitality! There's all you need: a comfy, warm bed, bathroom with shower, spacious kitchen facility, even a washing machine.
