House from XVII century with remains from the 17th century on the ground floor, in front of the medieval wall. 180 sqm. in two floors, with a little swimming pool in the ground floor and a terrace in de first floor.
The house was refurbished in 2004 by the current owners. The most part of ceiling respects the original architectonic structure: wooden beams in the upper floor and catalan vaults on the ground floor. The new ceilings are built with exposed wooden and concrete beams, that match very well with the original building. The house is furnished with both, restored and modern, furniture and ornaments. All the elements are integrated with outstanding sensitivity. The traditional “toba Catalana" (hand made terracota tiles) was employed for flooring all the house.
After the entrance, there is a long L-shaped corridor with catalan vaults, which goes through three rooms with furniture, a bathroom and a swimming pool surrounded by teak wood. At this point, the stairs to the upper floor and the pleasant and discreet terrace with teak wooden table and chairs, a sunshade, a shower and the original potable water well.
A full equipped kitchen for six people, with a fireplace and a table, is next to the terrace door. The living-room, close to the kitchen, has two sofas, a coffee table and cupboards with menage. There is a TV, Internet WiFi access and HiFi equipment as well. A little window in the wall and another one (Velux) in the roof give natural light to the living-room.
In front of the living room there is a bedroom for four, with a truckle bed and a double bed, which is above the truckle bed. The second bedroom, with a double bed, is beside the upper floor bathroom, which has a bath and heated towel rail.

Ullastret is a village within Baix Empordà area (Girona province). This village is located 6 kms away from La Bisbal de l'Empordà (capital of this area), 31 kms away from Girona, 40 kms away from Figueres, 60 kms away from France (Le Perthus) and 130 kms away from Barcelona. The most wild Costa Brava beaches are just 12 kms away from the house.
The municipality of Ullastret has an area of 11 square kilometres and the village has an altitude of 49 metres. The municipality limits are: Parlavà, Serra de Daró and Gualta to the North; Fontanillas to the Est; Palau-sator, Forallac and La Bisbal d'Empordà to the South; and Corçà to the West.
Ullastret is a vertex of the Baix Empordà gold triangle (Peratallada and Pals, the rest). Moreover, Ullastret is surrounded by iberian, greek and roman remains, with Ullastret iberian old village (less of 1 km away) and the the greek and roman ruins of Empúries (25 kms away) as the two more relevant examples of that. Close of the house there are other important medieval traces as a castle (fortified tower used as a jail) and all the wall, a romanic church and a gothic market.
The house is in a quiet village with 250 people, surrounded by fields, forests and narrow roads and rural paths. Ullastret has few tourist lodgements and you can find three restaurants, a grocery and a tradicional dairy farm where the "recuït of Ullastret" is sold.
With private car, taxi or public buses that link all villages within Baix Empordà area.
The fairy flat slopes of rural paths, allow the guess to bike easily between the closer villages.
Other Things to Note
An overnight tourist tax for accommodations in Catalonia will be applied (0,50 €/pax/night), which is not included in the price. Maximal cost of this tax is the equivalent to 7 consecutive nights per person. This tax will not be applied for children under the age of 17 and will be paid at the arrival to the apartment.The fireplace can be used, but not for cooking. Wood cost is not included in rental prices.
