Murray and Judy were very welcoming to my friend Natania and myself. The studio was clean, comfortable and had everything that we needed. They offered us bikes and helmets to ride but we didn't get to use them as the weather wasn't very good. We still managed to sneak out during pockets of time when the sun was out and had a great time at the long jettys taking photos and just enjoying the serenity that we don't have in the city. We loved our stay and would definitely be back!
Judy and Murray are wonderful hosts. Before arriving Judy was easy to contact and offered a number of suggestions as dinner options. The first night we took them up on one of their suggestions and the second we used their BBQ. Both Judy and Murray welcomed us upon arrival and into the Airbnb family. The studio was exactly as described and perfect for a relaxing getaway. Although overcast, there was still plenty to do. Everything is close by and easy to navigate. Highly recommended. Thank you!
The bungalow was a perfect and much nicer alternative to staying in a hotel room. There was a full kitchen and plenty of space, and a short walk to the beach. Although the bungalow is at the back of Judy and Murray's property, it is very private and secure and has a nice homely feel. It was great waking every morning to the sound of lorikeet's in the trees around the property.
Judy and Murray were great hosts who are very welcoming and helpful and are more than happy to help you find your way around the area. For me, I was busy with family events so I didn't get to speak to them too much and did my own thing. For other guests I know they have shared a bottle of wine and stories on the deck.
Really recommend this where you want a more local and 'real' experience.
Both Judy and Murray were very welcoming. The place was exactly like the pictures, a great studio, great size and very comfortable. Bed was brilliant. The area is very quiet, close to the beach and to a secluded beach that we will have to swim at next time. All in all a great stay. Thank you Judy and Murray for the let and the double smoked ham that was in the fridge, surprising bonus.
Judy and Murray very hospitable and caring hosts. The studio is as advertised, well appointed, very comfortable and great location. We loved it. Highly recommend.
My first experience with Airbnb and we couldn't have chosen a better place or hosts.
Judy was great with correspondence and from the moment we arrived were made to feel very welcome.
What a lovely place to stay. The studio is private, clean, comfortable and very close to cafes, swimming and cycle tracks that were well ridden with the two bikes provided. The food provisions were great and more than what we expected.
Judy and Murray are fantastic hosts. We enjoyed a delightful evening with wine, coffee and travel talk which helped to make this a very memorable stay.Enjoy your trip to Oregon Judy.
We will definitely recommend this lovely piece of paradise and will return next time in Bateau Bay.
I had a lovely couple of days at Bateau Bay at Judy and Murray's place - a lovely studio and very hospitable hosts! The studio is close to lovely beaches and coastal walks which I particularly enjoyed.
Judy and Murray Townsend. Recent retirees. Have been involved with Home Exchange for many years, meeting the best people from all over the world. Thought we would add Airbnb to our way of travelling. Our studio is beautiful and has won an Australian architectural award.
Murray was a deputy at a local primary school and I was a teacher /librarian so don't bring books - there is a full library just waiting for you.
We have lived at Bateau Bay for over 30 years and can show you the all the best places to go. It is a tourist destination in summer so we often leave, and house swappers come in.
