We had a wonderful experience, our hosts were lovely people. They met us at the front door, explained everything about the house & our space. We could not have asked for more caring & hospitable hosts.
Anytime we needed help, they were available & gave us many ideas concerning the area. Please read other reviews as we don't want to duplicate the other positive experiences. Thank you again for allowing us to share your home.
KC and Doug were very hospitable hosts. We welcomed with a bottle of wine and fresh fruit. There were 3 of us and we stayed in the large lower room with family room. It was extremely quiet and the bed was very comfortable. KC is a wonderful artist and we were surrounded by numerous beautiful Asian paintings. The view overlooking the Ocean is lovely. They were both helpful in recommending restaurants, etc. I really enjoyed conversing with Doug as well as our fellow renter, Elise from Norway.
The only drawback was that there were 43 stairs that we had to navigate to get to our room. Good exercise, but may be a problem if you have a knee problem. Also, there were curtain panels on the balcony/bedroom windows that did not keep out the light so if you are light sensitive you definitely will need a mask. Their home is up in the hills and although there is a local bus that runs into town, it is almost necessary to have a car and parking was no problem.
See previous reviews --many other guests found walking quite pleasant (0.8 mi to village and beach). Anyway, we always recommend driving part of the way, because parking is free until nearly there. Also, the bus to town goes by our house.
Yes, the rooms are bright, with 84 square feet of glass doors and windows in the bedroom; same for family room.
Kc and Doug welcomed us warmly and showed us to our room, which was down two long flights of stairs. The room was comfortable and spacious, with a very large adjoining living room. The two balconies facing the ocean were a bonus. For visitors with bad knees or mobility issues, all the stairs would be challenging. Because I need a dark room to sleep, the thin curtains didn't work. Bring a face mask if you need it to be dark. The views of the ocean were spectacular.
An excellent, very cost-effective place to stay in Laguna Beach. The room was spacious, clean and inviting. There are two lovely private decks with a lovely view that includes the ocean. The bed is very comfortable, the shower is huge and the mini-fridge kept our beer nice and cold. At night we kept the patio doors open so we could listen the water. Kc and Doug were incredibly friendly and gracious hosts, providing fruit, a bottle of wine and maps of the area. It's a nice short walk down the street to reach the heart of Laguna Beach. We were definitely satisfied and would recommend the room to anyone looking for a nice place to stay there.
The listing description was accurate. Although it is a bit away from the beach, there is a palm-framed view of the Pacific with Catalina in the distance and you can even hear the wave action at times. The location is quiet, secluded and private -- just what we wanted. We had everything we needed including cereal, milk, fruit and other food items provided by our hosts. The two rooms and bath are large and the bed is comfortable. We would certainly recommend this home and would visit again.
My family and I had a wonderful time at KC and Doug's home. The home is located on the hillside in Laguna Beach in one of the most beautiful spots imaginable. Surrounded by multi million dollar homes and beautiful ocean views. The downstairs of there home was huge with tall ceilings and a huge living room and bathroom. The bedroom was also big with a private deck with ocean and canyon views. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming! Overall a perfect air b&b experience and my family and I will definitely stay with KC again!!
Wonderful experience! Everything was clean and the atmosphere was pleasant. I was very satisfied and would stay again.
