Interaction with Guests
This is my home and therefore I will be in residence during guests stay. I am happy to chat, answer questions and give advice but the house is also big enough to give you your privacy.
Within a few minutes walking distance you can visit the beautiful Botanic Gardens with it's famous curvilinear greenhouse. Also nearby is the historical Glasnevin Cemetery with its award winning museum and great guided tour. The Gravediggers Pub, just across the road, is a unique Dublin pub with an interesting history. Hedigan's Pub nearby is another old pub that features in Ulysses by James Joyce. The city centre is just a half hour walk away but if you'd rather take a bus, there is a good choice.
You can wander along the canal or rent a city bike and visit the nearby Phoenix Park - the largest enclosed park in Europe. And if that not enough to whet your appetite - I'll have plenty more suggestions for you!
there are several bus routes to the city centre just a few minutes walk from the house. When in the centre you can avail of Luas tram and Dart light rail. The Dublin City hire a bike scheme is available nearby and around the city. Walking to the city centre takes about 30 minutes.
I have a no smoking policy and a request that guests do not consume food in the bedroom. In my experience mutual respect is all that is required to make your stay a pleasant one for all concerned.
We (my 2 grown up kids and I) really much enjoyed our stay at Noeleen's. She is very nice, helpful, present but not intrusive. You can do as you please. The house is beautiful and very cosy. I definitely recommend the place!!! The area is nice and well connected to downtown (direct bus).
We stayed at Noeleen's for four days in her lovely and cosy home. The house and the room is clean, ordered and very nicely decorated. We had our own private bath. Well located in front of the Glasnevin Cemetery and only 10 min walk from the National Botanic Gardens. Bus stops nearby will bring you to the centre in less than 10 minutes.
A plus: Noeleen prepares an excellent breakfast which gives you plenty of energy to enjoy the day in Dublin! :-)
Noeleen has a beautiful house. She made us feel very welcome. The room and private bathroom are perfect and very clean.
City centre is 30 minutes on foot or you can take the bus which stops across the street.
We had a very good holidays at Noeleen's house. She's a very kind and approachable person and she gave us good and helpful information about the city. The stay was really nice: great room, good breakfast and a lot of space for our own. We enjoyed every single day there and we would repeat experience if we go back to Dublin.
Noeleen is a wonderful hostess. Discreet, friendly and helpful. You really feel like you're in a nearby house familar. As seen in the photos the house is tastefully decorated and the room and bathroom were perfect for us.
We chose this area for its tranquility and well-positioned for the University and the city center. Very well connected by several bus or walked. It's a neighborhood with all services attached to the Botanical Garden (must) and Glasnevin cemetery.
Thanks for all Noeleen !!!

About the Host, Noeleen
I have many years experience of hosting guest from all over the world in my home and I enjoy creating a pleasant environment for my guests. I am working in a school for children with special needs as a classroom assistant. My school is great and I love the long holidays! I am the mother 3 adult children who have now left home - hence all the spare bedrooms! I love to spend time with my family and friends, eating or chatting. I enjoy cooking (vegetarian), gardening, arts and crafts. I am interested in the arts and I am a volunteer guide in one of Dublin's cultural art museums. I love the movies and especially enjoy going to one of the two art house cinemas that we have in the city. I walk a lot and do a bit of cycling, swimming and dance classes. I have had some great trips abroad -Cuba been among the most memorable. Last year I went to South Africa to work as a volunteer in a township - an amazing experience.
