The nearest town of Marion is just a 15 minute drive away and has great restaurants, shops and bars. Southern Illinois University-Carbondale is approximately 30 minutes away.

This lake house is located on Bearden Ct. on the east side of Lake of Egypt. Located in a quiet cove just off the main channel, this lake house features gentle slope backyard to private dock with quick access to all things Lake of Egypt.

Lake of Egypt is a stunning lake in the Little Egypt region of Illinois. It is located six miles south of Marion, Illinois and covers 2,300 acres with 90 miles of shoreline. The lake has an average depth of 18 feet with a maximum depth of 52 feet. If fishing is your passion, Lakeview Landing is the perfect spot for you with its own private dock for fishing the healthy populations of bass, bluegill and crappie.
Lakeview Landing is only 15 minutes from the Veterans Airport of Southern Illinois, which is easily accessible from Midwest airports such as Lambert Field in St. Louis, Missouri, and Nashville International Airport in Nashville, Tennessee.
A wide array of wineries, breweries, specialty shops, unique eateries, and art galleries dot southern Illinois near Lake of Egypt and are only a few minutes’ drive from your front door.

You can travel the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail, which is composed of eleven wineries situated on beautiful rolling hills along a 40-mile trail.
Giant City State Park, an outdoor lover’s paradise of hiking, horseback riding, fishing, and rappelling is just 30 minutes away. The park also is home to one of the most popular restaurants in southern Illinois. Ferne Clyffe State Park is just minutes away from Lakeview Landing. Impressive rock formations can be seen from almost all the park trails, but two of the best-known sights are Hawks Cave, a 150-foot-long shelter bluff, and a 100-foot-tall intermittent waterfall on the Big Rocky Hollow trail.
Bike enthusiasts can find miles of trails in southern Illinois. The 45-mile-long Tunnel Hill
bike trail was created from an abandoned train route that now takes you beside thick forest, through a dark railroad tunnel, and over towering train trestles. For those enjoying greater challenges, nearby Touch of Nature offers more than ten miles of mountain bike trails, for both beginners and veterans, and “pump trails” for true mountain bike enthusiasts.
While there may not be 10,000 of them, this part of southern Illinois is well known for its
many lakes, including Little Grassy Lake, Crab Orchard Lake, Rend Lake, and, of course, Lake of Egypt.
If you like to stay out of the water and play a little golf, Kokopelli Golf Club is less than
20 minutes away. Kokopelli was named by Travel + Leisure as one of “America’s 100 Best Courses for $100 or Less.” You will also have discounts to golf Kokopelli and dine at the club’s upscale eatery, The Turn Restaurant and Grill.

I have been an Airbnb host since 2016. The husband and I started hosting guests on our 50 foot motor yacht on Kentucky Lake when we owned and operated Kentucky Lake Boat Charters. We love meeting new people and sharing our best experiences- so much in fact that we decided to build cabins on our property to host guests in southern Illinois. Thus, Dam Near Lake of Egypt Cabins, LLC was born.


After a couple of years under my belt and getting the backend management to a well-oiled machine, I have grown this business into Southern Illinois Vacation Rentals, LLC. and Professional Hosting Services for other property owners.


Fun fact: Dam Near Lake of Egypt Cabins is a pun to help identify our location- Near Lake of Egypt, but not waterfront. We are just 1 mile from Lake of Egypt's dam. ;-)
