This villa lived up to its description. You can walk to Whale City Bakery & Pub right next door, the Roadhouse, a nice but casual restaurant just a few doors down, and across Highway 1 and down to a gorgeous breath takingly beautiful beach in just a couple of minutes. The Roadhouse (email hidden) jazz band. The bakery had good beer, food and coffee.
The artwork and decor were really cool, "SF MOMA meets Haight Ashbury." Our neighbors in the back were a polite guitar-playing woman and a surfer/musician.
The bathroom tile was gorgeous and the place was filled with art.
1. conservative religious folks; a variety of different religious symbols and art, from a variety of different religions were everywhere, eg Hindu goddess statues
2. dogs or little kids because they could easily get into the street and get hit by a car on Highway 1; I'd never ever bring my dog there for that reason. A teenager would probably love it though.
3. Fancy folk who love the crisp white just bleached sheets that a Hilton resort offers; it has a laid back college feel.
The Beach House was PERFECT for my daughter's 21st birthday event!! There was more room than I expected, so it was wonderful. They really enjoyed the decks. Love being right at the beach! As a family, we plan to come back.
There is only one actual bedroom, but that wasn't important at all for my daughter and all her friends. The fold outs and couches were great. Nice kitchen also.
The weather was amazing, and that doesn't always happen in June.
A month before our trip there was a problem with the back bungalow, but Michael helped solve that issue, and as it turned out there was plenty of room for all my daughter's friends in the front, so they were able to all stay in the one unit.
This little cute house on the beach is a really great place to stay with the family. But for people who wanna have action isn't it the right place. There are only a few shops and restaurants that makes this place so nice. Only the street is between the house and the beach. The street in front of the house is no problem at all. you can't hear anything at night. The only thing was that the house was not that clean how we would like to have it, the fifth Bed on the couch is really really small but there is a mattress in the cabinet which is bigger and also there is no possibility to open any window in there only the one in the bathroom. But anyway it was the most interesting house I have ever been. Such creative stuff in there.
What is also really nice is to walk or run along the beach or cliffs.
I recommend everyone to stay here even if it's just a night! :) michael seems to be a nice guy.
The reservation was canceled 5 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Great house with an even better view. Very uniquely furnished / decorated (from the mosaic walkway to the gorgeous redwood dining table). The house is vintage (probably 50-100 years old) but we found it charming and very well located - a quick 15 min drive from Santa Cruz and all the great restaurants but stills feels wonderfully remote. Front fenced yard was an unexpected bonus and great if you have dogs (note, there's a dog fee of $20 per dog).
Our experience at the 480 Villas in Davenport was more than we could have ever hoped for, complete with whale sitings, a musical jam session, a breathtaking beach, and beautiful home to call home away from home for a weekend. Michael was a most gracious host and from the moment we arrived we felt welcome within the community. We visited the Whale City Bakery Bar & Grill, a lovely breakfast spot, and fine dining at the Roadhouse Restaurant & Inn. My family and I will most definitely be returning!
Fun from start to finish. Michael's beach house is easy living as its finest. Nothing fancy but completely comfortable for the guys (and our boys) with lots to discover inside and out.
Michael (email hidden)ry communicative and helpful. The beach house is a fantastic, quaint little getaway. The only reason I am leaving a 4-star rating rather than 5 is the fact that the guest unit in the back has the same entrance gate so we had people walking past our windows day and night. Not as secluded as we had hoped.
Michael (email hidden) and this property is amazing. My friends and I loved our experience and would recommend this spot to anyone!
