I highly recommend the Studios 480 Villas. The place itself is worth visiting for it's unique artsy charm and welcoming atmosphere. Of course, you are spoiled by the ocean across the street and the fun cafe next door. Don't miss out on this one of a kind, gem in the Airbnb community!
Great place. Looking forward to doing it again.
Despite our last minute plans, Michael was quick to respond and easy going throughout the entire process. We stayed at the front house which is a spacious, private one bedroom unit which could easily accommodate four. The living room has a single and double pull out bed that could be made private with a locking door to the hallway. Essentially, it could turn into a two bedroom. There is a rear exit door thru the dining / kitchen area. In all, a well thought out floor plan with beautiful decor to boot. Did I forget to mention the enormous front deck? We're already thinking about coming back this summer!
This was my first air bnb experience and it was a good one. Michael was very amiable and accommodating. He communicated very well and gave me good instructions.
The place itself could not be in a better location. We were able to have a great breakfast at the bakery next door, hike in the redwoods during the day and enjoy sunset at the gorgeous beach. The cliffs are great for seal watching too.
It's a funky place perfect for surf folks or families and people not wanting the big touristy hotel experience.
The lighting could be better.
Of course 1 is fairly busy but you can't get any closer to the beach.
Everything was absolutely perfect! Gorgeous views in a quiet beach town, and the house had 2 decks for enjoying all the awesomeness. Plus super dog friendly, so our puppy got spoiled daily walks on a secluded beach. We'll definitely be back this summer!
Michael was super helpful from the start. He answered all of my questions very quickly including before I booked the place via email and while I was in Santa Cruz via text.
The place is amazing and the pictures don't do it justice. The beach across the street is stunning. The restaurant just next door is so much fun and has great food!
I want to find myself back in Santa Cruz just to stay at Michael's place again. If you're looking to have a relaxing stay, definitely give Michael a message.
We had a fabulous time at Michael's home in Davenport. Michael was a great host. He responded quickly to our enquiries. The house is very comfortable and has everything we needed. The beach is spectacular. We even saw whales right out front!! Michael was kind to lend our boys his wet suits and boogie boards and they surfed the waves while the Harbour seals curiously watched them.
From Davenport we had day trips to Monterey and Big Basin Redwood Forest. If you are their on a Thursday evening don"t miss "thankful Thursday" at the cafe next door.
What a funky, lovely guest house Michael has put together!
ATTENTION: out of the 4 accommodations that Michael rents, only one (the front house) offers ocean views.
We were booked in the back bungalow. The bungalow is quite large, with a big living room and kitchen; it offers absolutely no sea view. Once you step outside the bungalow, you still have not even a glimpse of the ocean. All you see is the backyard, which is quite a mess.
Upon our arrival, we found the bungalow in a very dirty state. We first had to clean the accommodation, most importantly the kitchen. In both a cupboard and the fridge, we found old food, way past the expiration date.
Price-value is, in our experience, very bad.
Beautiful place, great view, nice decor, plenty of room on the front porch to sit and enjoy some beers as well as an upper balcony!
