  • Helpful info and communication from Michael, comfortable house, great beach across the street. Whale City restaurant next door was a sweet little place and open at 6:30am, which was nice since our son woke up early. We loved Harley Farms baby goats up the road in Pescadero.

  • Michael's beach house was a very cozy and convenient place. My children loved the challenge of " Whale Watching". Climbing up to deck or coming down the boat-like ladder. I loved the colorful walls and the well match tile in the main bathroom. We will return to the HWY 1' enchanting place.

  • We loved our stay in Davenport in Michael's back bungalow! Beautiful beach across the street, restaurants and a delicious bakery all within walking distance and a relaxing fire with old friends and new that we met during our stay. Michael was very responsive and made the entire process very easy. My first air bnb experience- I will definitely be back!

  • Michael's place is really fun. The beds were comfortable and the location amazing. The Whale City Bakery is a great next door neighbor...I spent hours there one morning while my kids slept in! Unfortunately it was raining all weekend so we didn't get to enjoy the great porch out front. Michael was a great host and we hope to come back some time when it's sunny and people are out and about. Thank you!

  • Michael was a generous host and Daveport is gorgeous! We had a great time staying in the back bungalow, surfing, and taking in the sunsets. We will definitely be back! Thanks for hosting, Michael!

  • What a GREAT PLACE! We really enjoyed our stay. The beach across the street is amazing. Beautiful sunsets, walking on the beach. We celebrated Thanksgiving in the cottage in the back. Worked great for our group. Used the fire pit and the dart board entertained the teenagers. Love the artistic touches on the grounds and the buddahs everywhere! Micheal and Lori were so helpful and made us feel right at home. Can't wait to return and I am SURE we will!

  • Michael's place was the absolute perfect place to relax. Davenport is a super chill town with an awesome local cafe/bakery and beach. The beach house was clean, cozy and full of really amazing and interesting artwork. Thanks for letting us share your space!

  • Didn't get to meet Michael, however he made check-in and check-out very easy. Super laid back atmosphere and beautiful view. definitely go to the bakery in the morning. Highly recommend taking the hike at Ano Nuevo if you feel like some exercise with beautiful sights. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place and could see myself coming back in the future!

  • Michael was absolutely fantastic. He was responsive and made sure we were taken care of. He even offered to let us borrow a ton of surfing gear in the morning, but we ended up sleeping in.

The house was beautiful and had everything we needed (places to sleep, a stove to cook with, and wireless). There was also a fire pit so made smores at 2am and quietly sipped wine while admiring the stars. They have a very California-esque setup with a shared outdoor area, which is super chill.

There is a beautiful beach just down the road. As in probably the most beautiful and private beach I have ever seen.

Our purpose was to having a working retreat with plenty of time for fun and this house definitely let us reach our goal.

About
Hey there folks, my name is Michael. I operate a small villa with a front private house , a one bedroom bungalow in the back and other side studios, some self contained and others with shared bath and kitchen. We usually have an eclectic type of person that stays here, mostly artists, musicians, and alternative, progressive thinkers. These interesting people are drawn to this electric area maybe because we have giant redwood trees behind us and the Pacific Ocean in front of us. I live here and it's my job to make sure everyone is happy. Some nights the whole place will be full of travelers eating together, playing music, and telling story. Other nights a quite family of four arrives just to get away from the New York winter. In Davenport with a population of three hundred you get to know everybody quick. The local pub and bakery have two community events every week its quite a hoot. I'm 40 and love the area , born and raised in these hills and know every great hiking trail, every great surf spot, every great and marvelous thing to do and see in this area. We have a fun basket of toys and game equipment thats been donated by travelers and has accumulated over time , so we have wet suits and surf boards to frisbees and golf clubs. My days are full tending to the traveler and everyday I'm grateful to have the opportunity to share with people the villa space and all the beautiful things this area has to offer. This has taken almost half a life time to attain. I have traveled the world and lived in other places but I always find myself back in the Santa Cruz area. I know it, love it, and have this great job of sharing it. If anyone out there wants the front line tour, I can accommodate or if you just choose a cozy private night by the fire i can accommodate that. Like the beat of the ocean outside the villa, we march to our happy places that pull us away from our everyday grind, and I believe, this is the marching grounds for peace, happiness, well being, and adventure.... see ya soon Michael
