The Space

Room Description: Modest downstairs non-smoking bed/bath in an end unit town home condo only 20 minute drive from historical Charleston & a 12 minute drive from CHS airport.

PLEASE, Non Smoking Guests Only! Your room (queen bed) has its own private entry door. Bath has a large shower & separate vanity area. Sleeps 1-2 comfortably. Its cozy & clean w/soft fresh bed linens/towels. Home has central heat/air conditioning & room has a ceiling fan. An additional small portable fan & area heater are stored in the closet. Freshly painted and new tile flooring installed April 2014. Next to your bed, you will find a reading lamp and a combination alarm clock/noise machine w/a variety of sounds from ocean to brook for your sleeping pleasure. Although there is NO television in the room, wireless internet is available.

Swimming pool open sun up to sun down (Memorial Day to Labor Day). Off street parking spaces just outside your door entry. In the large closet, owner stores beach supplies, chairs, coolers, towels & floats which you are welcome to use during your stay.

Otranto Station was a working train station in the early 1900's. Although THE TRAIN STILL GOES BY DAY/NIGHT, the station itself was turned into a 75 unit apartment community in 1970 & converted to condominiums in 2005. EAR PLUGS in medicine cabinet if needed.

Please, Please, NON-SMOKING GUESTS PREFERRED. Room is simply a guest room in my home. It is not a hotel room so there is not a coffee maker or a refrigerator in the room. Its simply a bedroom, bathroom and closet. Both Shell Kangaroo & Murphy's Gas at the corner sell coffee. McDonald's is close by. Dunkin Donuts & Starbucks are both w/in driving distance too. Also nearby restaurants & grocery stores. Fill up your gas tank at Murphy's as its usually the lowest price in town.

  • Pam was very hospitable, the room was quiet (except for the train, which I didn't mind), and was a relaxing place while not exploring Charleston. It truly is a gem of a deal.

Thank you Daniel. Hope your travels will bring you to our neck of the woods again. Charleston has so much to see. Happy traveling.

  • My girlfriend and I stayed with Pam for 6 days and everything was perfect. It's just as described in her summary. The location is great, short driving distance to all of the major must see attractions in the area. Pam has a ton of information about places to visit and things to do in the area and coupons as well, which made it our stay even better. I would definitely stay with her again.

  • Pam was an excellent host. She was very friendly and offered to help in any way on numerous occasions. The room was as described, clean and well maintained.

The internet connection was barely accessible by my laptop. It wasn't an issue of slow internet speed but poor wifi broadcast range.

Thank you Jacob for choosing to stay in my guest room during your visit to Charleston. I hope your move here will be great. I would have happily reset the modem or allowed you to connect in the dining room where the signal is strongest and then you would not have had any problems. I am sorry you never once mentioned it the several times I checked on you. I do my best to make sure all guests are satisfied but I do not know anything is wrong unless you tell me. I gave you a personal hand written note with my phone number upon your arrival and asked you to contact me via text or call if you needed anything and you never contacted me. Most guests visiting are tourists and are hardly ever in the room except to sleep. It does not have a desk because it is a simple bedroom and bathroom as described in my online ad. I wish you the best in all your future travels. Thanks again for choosing to stay at Casa de Pamela.

  • This is a great deal in a convenient location. Access is ideal for travelers on the go being near main artieires in North Charleston leading to all desired points rapidly, but it's busy. The room is situated well away from that.

Pam was courteous and helpful during check in. The room has everything you need and was clean and well-maintained. It's Charleston in the springtime when we stayed so temperature vary but windows and Central AC were up to the task. The white noise generator is a nice touch because it is very quiet except for the train...
Pam left ample and thorough instruction and was readily available. I highly recommend staying with Pam and would do so again. It's great value.

Thanks for the nice review. Ha ha ha, no you are the first one to mention the little notes around the room because they are a new addition. Just trying them out to see if they help before making them permanent. Appreciate the feedback. Happy Traveling.

  • Pam's bed/bath accommodation is pretty sweet. The bed is very comfortable, everything is very clean, the shower is great, and Pam's attention to detail is very evident. She has a large selection of brochures and local coupons laid out and available for use. Her communication was spot-on, checking in on us before and during our stay.

We loved staying at Pam's and would not hesitate to return.

I am so sorry you had problems with the internet. I would have been more than happy to report it to comcast or tried to help if you had let me know while you were here instead of just writing about it in the review. You never mentioned it during any of our conversation or texts. In addition, I had no idea you wanted access to my kitchen. I have to be home for that because I have a dog who does not know you. Thank you for staying here and I wish you and your girlfriend lots of happy travels.

  • I had a great stay in Pam's suite. It was as advertised, a very lovely room, neat and tidy, with lots of great books, magazines, and suggestions for local attractions and things. The private entrance was a big plus as I could come and go without disturbing Pam - I was in and out a lot over the weekend as I was in town for a work seminar and was also trying to squeeze in some sightseeing. Her location is perfect - very close to many shops, restaurants, close to downtown Charleston, and an easy drive to Folly Beach, where my work was. I found Pam to be very responsive through the whole process of booking and prior to my arrival. I arrived quite late and was a bit delayed at the airport and she even was there to greet me and make sure I had everything I needed to settle in. My stay was short - only 4 nights, but she came in midway to change the towels which was a very nice touch. We didn't have too much time to connect due to my work schedule, but in my talks with her I found her to be a very gracious host, knowledgable about the area, and I enjoyed hearing about her travel adventures. I would definitely recommend her place and will return there if I am in the area again.

  • Although not downtown if you have a car it's just a 15 minute drive and well worth it. Pam has all sorts of information and discount tickets. She's very accommodating. Place is very clean and has nice touches. Top billing!

  • Adorable, well appointed and immaculately clean guest suite in quiet, charming area of N. Charleston; very convenient to the N. Charleston convention center and downtown Charleston. I was at a professional conference most of the time and hubby just relaxed and toured downtown Charleston. Pam was the perfect hostess! Thank you.
