CENTRALLY LOCATED IN HISTORICAL MARAIS NEIGHBORHOOD...
A very nice, bright, clean and tidy, newly renovated 4th floor apartment with gorgeous views on National Archives and private mansions, located in a 17th-century Marais building with old, exposed, structural beams, in a charming, very central and safe area.
Located a couple a meters from the National Archives (where Sofia Coppola shot scenes of her movie "Marie-Antoinette" in 2006)
Among the famous inhabitants of the street were Madame de Sévigné (phone number hidden)) and Pierre Augustin Caron de Beaumarchais (phone number hidden)) who lived there from 1756.
The building is at the corner of two beautiful, historical streets of old Paris, with great views from the windows on:
Hôtel de Saint-Aignan (now the Museum of Jewish Art and History)
Hôtel de Montmor, one of the most exquisite Parisian private mansions, built in 1623, now hosting a top-model agency and two famous art galleries (Marian Goodman & JGM)
Hôtel de Clisson & Hôtel de Soubise (now National Archives)
The loft sleeps 4 people comfortably in 2 distinct spaces:
- 1 queen size (140x190 cm), very comfortable, high quality bed (spring mattress) in the bedroom,
- 1 king-size (160x200cm), very comfortable, high-quality leather sofa - fold out bed in the living room.
The bedroom and the living room can be separated by unfolding a specially designed wooden screen. When the screen is kept open, the apartment is a spacious loft.
Upon special request, an extra, single mattress can be added for a 5th guest.
The 4 windows are soundproof and have light-blocking curtains, tropical solid wooden floor.
3 windows are on one side of the bulding, the 4th one is on another one, allowing a nice cross breeze between them when open. Heat is never extreme in the apartment, but a complimentary fan can be provided if necessary.

The apartment is on the 4th floor - there is no elevator, but the stairs are very even and easy to climb. A couple of guests in their 70ies had no problem with them. And the combination of the views and light in the apartment will reward your effort!
All guests are welcome, whatever their nationalities, status (singles, couples, friends, families, LGBT travellers...) & so on...
The only restrictions is that this is a strictly non-smoking apartement, thanks in advance for your understanding!

We had a great stay in Boris's cozy Marais apartment. The location is superb and Boris is a super host. Hope to return sometime again!
The reservation was canceled 3 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
The apartment is in a great location, and I don't need to restate warnings about the steep climb up or the snugness of the fit, there are enough reviews on here that do that already :). Boris was flexible about our exit time, which was great, and everything went to plan. A nice, bright space and fine for a long weekend in lovely Paris.
In preparation for a 2-week trip to Paris for myself and a friend, I had reviewed several apartments based on these criteria: a friendly & helpful owner, central neighbourhood, 2 quality beds, quiet building, cleanliness, washer/dryer, kitchen and positive reviews.
While we never met Boris, he was always quick to respond to our questions and his Assistant was very kind to us upon our arrival. He even carried our bags up all those flights of stairs!
This apartment was great with the exception of a few small issues. One issue is that the tap water contains a lot of sediment and is therefore not the most pleasant-tasting for drinking. This is easily resolved by purchasing bottled water. The tap water will leave spots on dishes, sink, etc.
The combined washer/dryer and its instructions are quite tricky to use & the machine does not seem to have a setting that does not include hot drying. Easily resolved by washing delicate clothes by hand and using the heated towel rack to quickly dry them.
This building is very quiet. The neighbourhood is so fantastic that it is hard to leave it & explore other parts of Paris. The nighttime air just outside your window down in the street is filled with happy sounds of people walking and happy chatter, like the sounds of an all-night cocktail party. While I loved these sounds, some might appreciate earplugs to ensure a good sleep.
The beds and pillows are really good quality and the place is reasonably clean.
One last thing: rent this place for two if you are a couple. It is acceptable for a short visit for friends - you're in the same room and there is no privacy (we did not try the folding door). For longer visits, friends may wish for a place with more private space.
great location，and very comfortable.
We had a great stay in Paris! Wonderful area and a great apartment. Everything worked flawless.
My husband and I were on our honeymoon on our first trip to Paris, and Boris' beautiful apartment in Le Marais was the perfect place to spend it - nestled in beautiful small streets in the heart of Paris and close to everything you need. Boris was very accommodating despite the fact that our arrival ran late, and when we arrived we found champagne and light breakfast foods waiting for us! I highly recommend staying here, and it certainly beats staying at a hotel. Thank you Boris, for everything!
I was pleased with my stay at this apartment. If you want to stay in the Marais close to everything, yet away from the noise, this is a great choice.
I wouldn't exactly call it "luxury", as everything is basic, very spare, and Ikea from top to bottom. No art or individuality. This is exclusively a short term rental bereft of identity--which honestly has its upside and is a good thing. There are big pluses, like lots of windows, air, brightness, great heaters that make it toasty warm, and mainly the bed was super comfy by American standards. That is no small feat in Paris at this price point, and we just didn't want to get out of bed in the morning, and slept so well.
Having so many perks (dishwasher, washer/dryer, good sheets and comforter) is great too! The kitchen was well stocked, and we wanted for nothing--sugar, coffee, honey, all utensils. Even a Nespresso, coffee and tea kettle. Wow. You can really cook if you want, easily. The 4 floor walk-up is not to be minimized, at all, but to be expected for a good bargain in Paris, which this is.
The host and his helper were just as nice as can be, and super responsive. That's so important. Only issues which prospective guests should consider (which were no big deal to us) were 1) the hot water ran out, 2) if you are looking for true luxury, you'd have to pay more for it, and I'd rather have bright and open, sky and rooftops, which this place has in spades, 3) the photograph of the bathtub is misleading, as you cannot in any way bathe in it, maybe just squat, as the shower itself is quite compact, and finally 4) I read some reviews before I arrived where a group of four people stayed here and omg I find that utterly impossible to imagine. It's fine for two people sleeping in the same bed, but anything more (other than maybe kids) would have been really crowded in this cozy space.
I felt the value for this place was just right.
Our stay in Boris apartment was great, he's an excellent host! There's everything you need for a comfortable stay and the apartment is really lovely. The location is perfect to explore the city. We'd love to come back soon!
