Rick's apartment is ideally located for exploring the Amsterdam city center. It is on a quiet street in the Jordaan, a lovely old neighborhood. but easy walking distance to the major sights. The neighborhood seems quite safe and I enjoyed just walking around it to see the architecture and window shop. There are numerous restaurants of many different cuisines within a couple of blocks and a grocery store just around the corner. The apartment is roomy, clean, well equipped and pleasant. There is even an expresso machine for morning coffee. The first floor location is helpful since you do not have to take luggage up stairs. I never actually met Rick, but talked with him several times by phone. His daughter met me at the apartment when I arrived. Rick was kind enough to arrange for a taxi to pick me up and take me to the airport when I left. All in all, a very good experience and I would certainly recommend the apartment to my friends.
It was a lovely apartment and really close to everything you could possibly (website hidden). Atm, supermarket, shops and a short walk away from the scenic canals. The apartment itself had everything you could need, including a coffee machine if you hadn't had enough coffee already! We throughly enjoyed our stay and were welcomed warmly by Rick's daughter on arrival. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to stay in central Amsterdam looking to balance comfort and convenience. Would definitely stay again
Rick was a wonderful host and made us feel welcomed, even though we had train delays, he was understanding and waited at the apartment for our arrival. The apartment was exactly as the listing stated, and looks like the picture he posted. Well located, clean and comfortable with linens and well supplied kitchen. He left us several restaurant recommendations, which we took advantage of. He also gave instructions as to when and where to leave the trash. The bed was very comfortable and had a small patio off the bedroom. It was quiet from street noise and very clean. We would stay here again and again.
The Jordaan area of Amsterdam is cozy and very convenient to the tram and bus stops as well as a short tram ride to the Central train station. It was nice to return "home" after a long day of exploring Amsterdam and the surrounding towns.
Thank you Rick and we look forward to a return trip soon.
Incredible apartment, located in one of the nicest neighbourhoods in Amsterdam. Rick's apartment is perfectly situated to experience the best cafés and restaurants the Jordaan has to offer. Rick was great to communicate with, we had a long delay with one of our connecting flights, Rick was very understanding and helpful. His lovely daughter was able to meet us once we finally arrived and provided some useful information about the area. If I'm ever back in Amsterdam there is no question I would stay here again.
I stayed with my wife in Rick's wonderful apartment for 3 nights and we were both very happy with our stay.
The apartment is compact, but well laid out and very comfortable. The kitchen was very useful and we enjoyed using the large dining table throughout our stay.
The bedroom had a comfortable bed, and leads out to a small but and very private patio which would have been nice to use, if we had had better weather during our stay. There is also great wifi and a Nespresso machine, capsules included.
Best of all is the location. In the heart of the Jordaan, one of the nicest parts of the city and on a quiet street. You are able to walk to almost anywhere without the need for public transport and the area itself has countless bars, restaurants and independent shops. There are 2 supermarkets just a 5 min walk away. We were more than happy with our stay and would highly recommend Rick's place.
We were greeted shortly after arriving in Amsterdam by Rick's daughters boyfriend, who showed us around and informed us how to use the various equipment in the apartment. We were also left a note with local restaurants, supermarkets etc.
The apartment itself was lovely, one street back from the canal and a 15 minute walk from Dam square. The apartment was very clean, quiet and had a lovely kitchen. Perfect to relax after a long day. Big thumbs up from us and we would love to return.
