The Space

This room has double size bed, dresser, desk, nightstand, closet, TV (with cable), ceiling fan and accommodates 2 people comfortably. The room and bathroom are separated from the rest of the family which is an added bonus for those times that you need more privacy to relax.
See: "Home Sweet Home", "Cute and Cozy", or "The Budget Room".

Guest Access

Guests also have access to the patio on the roof.
The bathroom is not in the room, but is right next to it and private.
Guests who are bringing their laptop may access Wifi in our home 24/7. If you are not bringing your laptop, you may use the internet cabin that is a short 2 minute walk from our home.
It is best to click on the "Amenities" tab so you know just exactly what we do and do not offer.

Interaction with Guests

We offer basic accomodations at very reasonable rates for our guests who are looking for a safe place to shower and sleep so that they may spend the rest of their time getting to know Lima. We do our very best to give you a warm welcome and make you feel comfortable in our home during your stay.
We are in and out of our home on a regular basis but Antonio is very good about checking in on guests often to make sure your stay is going well and to ask if there are any questions. If there is anything we forget or don't think about, please do not hesitate to ask!

The Neighborhood

We live in a safe neighborhood called Barrio Medico. It is located right on the border of the Miraflores/Surquillo District. We are closest to Angamos and Tomas Marsano (cuadra 17 Angamos) and Roca Y Bologna and Tomas Marsano (cuadra 9 Roca y Bologna).
Staying with us you will experience two worlds. One of locals enjoying the same malls, shops, markets, parks and walks that we do and the other being close enough to enjoy many tourist areas as well.THE HEART OF MIRAFLORES (PARQUE KENNEDY) IS A 25 MINUTE WALK FROM OUR HOME. If you do not like to walk, it is only about a 5 minute taxi ride away for about 6-7 Peruvian soles which is less than 2 Euros or $2.50 USD, VERY CHEAP :)
Barranco is about a 10 minute taxi ride and Central Lima is about 20-25 minutes. If you are not in a hurry and want to save money, there is always the option of taking a bus too :)
SAN ISIDRO and SAN BORJA are to the north
MIRAFLORES is to the south and west
SURCO is to the east

Getting around

Taxi's are easily accessible right outside our front door and the nearest bus stop is about a 5 minute walk from our home.
For your convenience, we do offer transportation from the airport for a fee. Please inquire.

  • Antonio was a great host! He really knows Lima and was eager to help us find our way. The room was really nice--very large and it looks just like the photos. Completely recommend to anyone!

  • Antonio was a great host! He waited for us at the airport even though our flight was delayed. He gave us very accurate and local knowledge about Lima. His directions were perfect and he helped us ensure we paid a fair price for taxis and buses.

The location is in a residential area and a 20 min walk or $3 taxi ride from Miraflores.

We would definitely stay with Antonio again.

  • Wow! Staying at Antonio and Tina's house was a great introduction to Lima. Antonio was waiting for me at the airport when I arrived, and gave me a ton of excellent tips for navigating the city. There's a great restaurant to eat ceviche nearby, and a beautiful park three blocks away. The room itself is exactly as it looks in the pictures - clean and cheerful.

If you're looking to feel like you're living (and not just touring) in Peru, this is your place to stay.

  • My fiancé and I stayed at Antonio's for 4 nights this month and would highly recommend his place. Antonio is very friendly and helpful and was a great host. The bedroom and bathroom were great (hot shower!) and are in their own area which provided a nice bit of privacy. The internet didn't work in the bedroom but did right outside of the room in the hall/stairs area or in the bathroom. They are very close to a mall with a nice grocery store/movie theater/plenty of places to eat. Highly recommend Antonio's!

    Response from Antonio:

Sorry about the internet in the room. Sometimes it works very well and unfortunately other times it is slow. If any of our guests have a hard time with the internet in their room, they are more than welcome to use the dining area where the connection is strongest. Thank you for being such great guests, we hope you will return again!

  • At a seemingly unbeatable price you get a big room with lots of closet space and a perfectly functional private bathroom. The area (though not in any of the regular tourist areas) was suitable for us because of the huge mall with restaurants one block away where we ate ate quite often while getting work done on the computer. Anyway Miraflores is reachable by foot in 5-10 minutes. San Isidro and the old city center by bus in 15 min or by taxi in 5-10 min.
The only thing was the WiFi signal which was occasionally weak. We recommend!

  • Our stay in Lima was so good thanks to the tips that Antonio provided us. We appreciate his company, his wife, his children, the dog and her cat. Antonio Thanks for the tips. I feel the moral obligation to register for the room we rented was exactly what was advertised on Airbnb. The very good shower, the bed also very good and well located residence. Recommend!

  • Flat is close to Miraflores and Antonio made really an effort to make my stay pleasant. There is also a convenient shopping mall just few minutes away from this flat.
    Thanks Antonio.

  • I stayed with Tina and Antonio for 2 weeks, while taking spanish lessons in Lima.
The stay was perfect, very cheap rate for a huge room with private bathroom, I loved it!
Antonio was extremely helpful with everything...getting around, giving good sight seeing tips, saving money on taxis...
The house is in a safe neighbourhood, nice parks to exercise or relax just minutes away. Also a big shopping center with supermarket, cinema, departement store, 5 minute walk.

I would highly recommand this place for your Lima visit!
Muchas gracias para todo, Tina and Antonio!

25 minute walk to miraflores center, parque kennedy, malecon...

    I would highly recommand

  • Staying with Antonio and Tina was great. Their house is in a very central location so it's easy to get almost anywhere you would want to go in Lima. The room is clean, comfortable and very private, considering that it's part of a house. Antonio and Tina are also very helpful in terms of connecting you to basic necessities like where to get laundry done, where to find medicine if you feel sick, etc. I highly recommend them, especially to people like me on a budget - hotels in the area they live in are very very expensive.

Hi, my name is Antonio. I was born and raised in Lima, Peru. I moved to the United States when I was 16 and graduated from Clovis High School in Fresno, California. I moved to Sacramento, California after graduating from high school. After living in the United States for 22 years, I moved back here to Peru with my family last year to share with them my culture and love for my country. I speak Spanish and English. My wife of 15 years, Tina, was born in Concord, Massachusetts and moved to the Sacramento area in California when she was a child. She went to American River College and has an Associates degree in Medical Assisting. She speaks English and some Spanish. You will see a lot more of me than Tina as she is busy throughout the day tending to the shopping, cleaning of the house, and taking care of our three children. We enjoy hosting because it gives us an opportunity to meet new people and learn new things. We have had guests from all walks of life, from many parts of the world, and have enjoyed the company of each and every one of them. We feel fortunate to have met such nice people and sometimes it is hard to say good-bye. We look forward to your visit! Welcome to Peru!
