We have a large 1950ish, 2 story, 10 bedroom, 5 bathroom home. Currently we are painting and making small repairs to make an even nicer environment for our guests. Please excuse our little messes or the minor rearranging of furniture. :)
This room has double size bed, dresser, nightstand, closet, ceiling fan and accommodates 2 people comfortably. The room and bathroom are separated from the rest of the family which is an added bonus for those times that you need more privacy to relax.
*Please note: We change and launder our comforters frequently so you may have a different design than pictured.
**IF THIS ROOM IS NOT AVAILABLE OR YOU NEED MORE ROOMS TO ACCOMMODATE MORE PEOPLE DURING THE TIME FRAME YOU NEED, WE HAVE 3 OTHER ROOMS :)
See: "Home Sweet Home", "Cute and Cozy", or "The Budget Room".
The private bathroom is not in the room, but is right next to it.
Guests who are bringing their laptop may access Wifi in our home 24/7. If you are not bringing your laptop, you may use the internet cabin that is a short 2 minute walk from our home.
It is best to click on the "Amenities" tab so you know just exactly what we do and do not offer.
Interaction with Guests
We offer basic accomodations at very reasonable rates for our guests who are looking for a safe place to shower and sleep so that they may spend the rest of their time getting to know Lima. We do our very best to give you a warm welcome and make you feel comfortable in our home during your stay.
We are in and out of our home on a regular basis but Antonio is very good about checking in on guests often to make sure your stay is going well and to ask if there are any questions. If there is anything we forget or don't think about, please do not hesitate to ask!
We live in a safe neighborhood called Barrio Medico. It is located right on the border of the Miraflores/Surquillo District. We are closest to Angamos and Tomas Marsano (cuadra 17 Angamos) and Roca Y Bologna and Tomas Marsano (cuadra 9 Roca y Bologna).
Staying with us you will experience two worlds. One of locals enjoying the same malls, shops, markets, parks and walks that we do and the other being close enough to enjoy many tourist areas as well.THE HEART OF MIRAFLORES (PARQUE KENNEDY) IS A 20-25 MINUTE WALK FROM OUR HOME. If you do not like to walk, it is only about a 5 minute taxi ride away for about 6-7 Peruvian soles which is less than 2 Euros or $2.50 USD, VERY CHEAP :)
Barranco is about a 10 minute taxi ride and Central Lima is about 20-25 minutes. If you are not in a hurry and want to save money, there is always the option of taking a bus too :)
SAN ISIDRO and SAN BORJA are to the north
MIRAFLORES is to the south and west
SURCO is to the east
Taxi's are easily accessible right outside our front door and the nearest bus stop is about a 5 minute walk from our home.
For your convenience, we do offer transportation from/to the airport for a fee. Please inquire.

This is a clean very basic room, ok for just a simple stay in Lima. Antonio is very friendly and helpful. Thanks Chris and Emma
This was my first Airbnb experience and I have to say that it was great. Antonio and Tina are fabulous hosts. I arrived in Lima at the crazy hour of 2am and they made sure I was met with a driver and Antonio even greeted me at the door even though it was around 3am! He made sure that I could find my way around by drawing up a map (photocopy and get them laminated to save you time Antonio!) and he also went above and beyond by spending about an hour and a half trying to get a SIM card and credit for my phone with me. So very appreciative of that.
The room was basic but very clean with a very comfy bed and pillows and the bathroom was also very clean. The only constructive feedback I can give is about the bedroom door- it is quite creaky when opening and closing. Overall I really enjoyed my stay and felt very welcome and safe. I'm back on the 27th, so I'll see you guys again!
We loved our stay here! We were greeted right away by Antonio, who was really cool and down to earth. He drew us a map to Miraflores, which was only about a safe 30 minute walk away and recommended some good restaurants.
They were so kind to let us stay with them and were understanding of our crazy stand by schedule, which only allowed us to know if we were checking out the morning of. We ended up staying 3 extra days than planned because we couldn't catch an open flight and they were so patient.
One night there wasn't an open room (we hadn't booked ahead and they were full) so we reserved another place. Turns out, the taxi drivers on Sunday wouldn't take us to our new hostel, so Antonio came outside and must have seen there was an issue, so he rescued us, and for a fair price, they took the time to make us a room with a comfy couch and air mattress.
We felt very welcome in their home. Tina answers emails super fast and they are both lovely, as are their children.
Their area is very safe and has a nice mall nearby with a cinemark and lots of food options. We came back several nights late after a movie and never had any issues.
As mentioned in the listing, there are some repairs going on in the home, but nothing that bothered us. The door to our room was a little hard to close and the doorknob wasn't really working but we were able to lock the room no problem. Lima is warm, but the cieling fan in the room was a lifesaver. Things seemed a little older in the home than in the photos, but it was really charming and we loved it.
If we ever came back to Lima, they would be our first choice!
We are glad that you enjoyed your stay here! You guys were really cool too and we were happy to be of help!
The door to the room is wood and the humidity in Peru unfortunately makes the wood in the house warp :( BUT it is on our list of things to repair or replace :)
Thanks so much for choosing us, we would be happy to receive a visit from you if you are ever in Peru again! All the best to you and O!
Place located beside the shopping mall, with several options to eat and transport, 30 Minutes Walking until Miraflores neighborhood (Turistic place) . Antonio was very kind By providing taxi to pick up us and to return to the Airport. After of arrive at the home, Antonio gave to us instruction about the city. The home is safe and reliable.
Antonio made us feel welcome from the first moment. He helped us with tips and tickets for the bus. The room was basic, clean and confortable. Recommended
Antonio met me at the bus station, which was a welcome relief after a long journey from Ecuador, and Tina had my room available early so that I could shower and take a quick nap. Throughout my stay, Antonio was available to answer all of my questions and give suggestions for the best way to see everything that I wanted to see while in Lima. I had a room different from the reservation (double bed, shared bathroom) which was fine - super comfortable bed and large space to spread out if you need it. The wifi doesn't work in the rooms, but there is a nice sitting room in the front which I used as my "office" much of the time, where the connection is great.
The location is good for the price and convenience of not being in a dorm - for me it was a leisurely 45 min to 1 hr walk to the waterfront in Miraflores, depending on how many stops I made along the way. What I loved most is that Surquillo is close to the mercados - Antonio directed me to the slightly grittier San Felipe mercado where there's delicious and inexpensive meals at Cevecheria Willy. There are a few other mercados nearby as well, on the way to Miraflores.
Antonio was also able to book my bus ticket to Cusco for me (for a reasonable fee) so that I didn't need to make another trip to the bus station. If you do this, I'd recommend booking at least a couple of days in advance - it was close to Christmas when I booked and I got one of the last seats available.
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay with us!
We don't typically change rooms on our guests but because of your unique situation with your bus trip/arrival, we did not have a choice and did our best to make your stay a comfortable one (one of the reasons you received a discounted price).
Also, internet in Peru is very expensive and because our house is super huge (the upstairs is the same size as the downstairs), to keep our rates low, we can not provide coverage to the whole house which is why we offer a parlor for our guests to enjoy the internet there.
Thank you so much for being so kind and we wish you the best during the rest of your travels. Come back anytime!

Hello and welcome!
A little bit about us...
I was born and raised in Lima, Peru. I moved to the United States when I was 16, learned English and graduated from Clovis High School in Fresno, California and then moved to Sacramento. After living in the United States for 22 years I wanted to move back to Peru with my family (2011) to share my culture, language and country with my children and wife. I speak both Spanish and English fluently.
Tina, was born in Concord, Massachusetts and moved to the Sacramento area in California when she was a child. She went to American River College and has an A.S. Degree. She speaks English and some Spanish.
We have been married for 17 years and have 4 children that keep us busy! My mother, Senora Carmen also lives here. If you are in the bottom part of the house, you will see her cooking in the kitchen most days :)
Tina has a full time job that allows her to work from home on the computer so she also tends to answer most of the inquiries that we receive. You won't see much of her as a result and when she is not working she is taking care of the house and children.
Hosting is my full time job. I have been working with tourists for a little more than three years now. I do not just hand you the keys and leave you alone. I spend a lot of time with my guests, making sure they are comfortable, answer any questions that they have, and giving some suggestions along the way. I do my best to make sure your experience in Lima is a nice one.
