A fun, funky, tiny, urban treehouse experience on the second floor (steep steps) of an over 100-year-old house with good bones and a lot of historical charm. It operated as an Apothecarium for a quarter of a century before we relocated the business a few blocks West. The space is small and amenities stop at a cold outdated minifridge. On the upside, it is very clean, with folksy, funky décor, and offers a safe, comfortable, relaxing, feel-good vibe. A memorable, affordable, walkable urban stay.
The space
Must be able to climb very STEEP STEPS. Our space has some low, attic ceilings, including the bathroom. The bathroom only has a small antique claw foot bathtub, NO SHOWER. The house operated as an Apothecarium for a quarter of a century making soap, candles, and incense so the place smells fantastic.
However, if you are sensitive to scents it could be a bother.
There can be a moderate to high noise level.
Guest access
The entire second floor is for guest use. If the steep steps and low ceilings aren't for you consider renting the first floor with a full kitchen or better yet the whole house!
Other things to note
The ability to appreciate ole' houses, bathtubs, CLIMB STEEP STEPS, and enjoy spaces with low ceilings is a must! Consider the first floor or the whole house if the second floor isn't a fit. The backyard is available for use too!

Neighborhood highlights
Our neighborhood is diverse and very walkable. Newport is a great small city. The aquarium and levee are three blocks away. Cincinnati is super close for a bigger urban experience. Downtown is an easy walk (2 miles round trip), trolley, Uber or a quick drive. There are lots of independent restaurants, bars and shops nearby as well as grocery stores, bakeries and of course our very own apothecary shop! As a native of the area I consider it very safe.
