The B&B Ca Minù has been opened since 2001 and it is located in the main floor of a XV century Venetian palace, called “Morosini dalla Sbarra”. Ca Minù is set in the heart of Castello, better location to reach easily both St. Marco Square (5 minutes walk) and Rialto (10 minutes walk). We are also very close to the ferryboat (vaporetto) that could lead you straight to the islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello. Then, the building is located just a few minutes walk from Arsenale and Gardens, famous for being the setting of the Biennale (this year will be dedicated to Architecture).
The room is provided with private bathroom. It is large and comfortable (equipped with air conditioning, TV, fridge, Internet access).
Breakfast is served in an elegant dining room, decorated with original stuccos of XVIII century. For those who ask for, Ca Minù gives the opportunity to have breakfast inside the room.
Children under 6 years old are complimentary in parents room: they just pay an additional charge of 10 € for breakfast.
I had a very pleasant stay at this property. My host Sofia was very welcoming. The room was very spacious.
The location is close to the main attractions, yet quiet enough to be away from the main street noise. I would gladly stay there again.
This was my first Airbnb experience. The room I had was just superb and tremendous good value for money. Silvia's mother was very welcoming and was good at ensuring I new the best places to visit.
I will recommend this to my friends without reservation. Thank you for making my 7 days so special.
Getting to Fiorella's apartment at night, for a first time visitor to Venice was very difficult. The narrow and dimly lit alleys and pathways, within the Castello district is difficult during the day and nearly impossible at night. Had it not been for the help of two strangers and a phone call we might never have found the place. The provided directions were simply not adequate. Once we found the place, Fiorella was a wonderful and charming hostess. The upstairs bedroom and bathroom was spacious, although the water pressure could have been stronger. The building was built in the 15th century and provides a chorus of creaks and groans, which add to the to the charm. Breakfast was very good with hot rolls, scrambled eggs, fruit and coffee. Location is good with a fifteen minute walk to San Marcus Piazza, less if you do not stop and admire. We would go back and could recommend this to any adventurous couple.
Silvia's room is located slightly away from the main tourist paths and is a welcome relief at the end of a busy day.
The room itself is clean and tidy, and it was great to start the day with the breakfasts prepared by Silvia's mum (consisting of fresh bread rolls, scrambled eggs, juice and coffee).
The downstairs room is possibly better. The upstair room had a weak wi-fi signal and the floating timber floor was uneven and worried me a little.
We spent a lovely week end in Silvia's B&b , although we met Silvia only at our arrival ( she was so kind to pick us up at the vaporetto station) as she had to work during the week end, her fabulous mother has been a great host, not only preparing a very good breakfast but also chatting and giving us advices on what to do and see. Her beautiful cats Matu and Sardina made the stay even funnier! The room itself is huge, clean and full of light, maybe a bit charmeless or without distinctive features, but the neighbourhood makes you feel a real Venetian and not a tourist and this is priceless, considering than in 15 minutes you are in the heart of San Marco nonetheless! Highly recommended for a true experience of Venice !
