About this listing
The B&B Ca Minù has been opened since 2001 and it is located in the main floor of a XV century Venetian palace, called “Morosini dalla Sbarra”. Ca Minù is set in the heart of Castello, better location to reach easily both St. Marco Square (5 minutes walk) and Rialto (10 minutes walk). We are also very close to the ferryboat (vaporetto) that could lead you straight to the islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello. Then, the building is located just a few minutes walk from Arsenale and Gardens, famous for being the setting of the Biennale (this year will be dedicated to Architecture).
The room is provided with private bathroom. It is large and comfortable (equipped with air conditioning, TV, fridge, Internet access).
Breakfast is served in an elegant dining room, decorated with original stuccos of XVIII century. For those who ask for, Ca Minù gives the opportunity to have breakfast inside the room.
Children under 6 years old are complimentary in parents room: they just pay an additional charge of 10 € for breakfast.
The location was fairly easy to find, we knocked on the wrong door, mainly because we didn’t notice that the house number had an A at the end. Sylvia’s mother had been watching for us and told us to go to the next door. We had arrived early, about 9AM, and her mother allowed us to store our luggage in a room while we took a walking tour of the northern part of Venice. We returned at Noon, the check-in time, and she lead us upstairs to our room. The room was nice, large, had a good view out the window of the courtyard below. It was air conditioned which we appreciated very much because of high temperature outside. The bathroom was private, just outside our room. The upstairs consisted of only the bedroom and bathroom, so we had a great deal of privacy. The only problem we had was the WIFI only worked downstairs. Sylvia’s mother said it may work in the corner of the bedroom but it didn’t work there for us. They allowed us to use their washing machine and we hung clothes outside on lines that went over pulleys between parts of the building. One of our pieces of clothing fell off onto a treetop below. Sylvia’s mother was very helpful getting the neighbor below to retrieve it for us. Sylvia’s mother asked us what time we would like breakfast, and she made a delicious breakfast of scrambled eggs, 2 types of rolls, juice, coffee, and fresh fruit. I recommend this B&B.
Great location and host!! The owner of the hotel was very helpful and polite. Perfect breakfast taking into consideration the price! Also very quiet area and huge room. Highly recommended!
Gran anfitriona, SUPER recomendable!!
We definitely enjoyed our time at Sylvia's! The room was clean and accurately described in her listing. We liked the location, the area was quiet at night but only a few minutes to walk to St Marco Sq. Sylvia met us at the ferryboat stop and made sure we found her place. She had a delicious breakfast ready for us every morning! We would stay again!
It was great, breakfast was delicious and Fiorella was helpful during our stay when it came to finding our way around Venice.
Host stupendo, palazzo incantevole, camera enorme e pulitissima. Shame on me!
