  • The location of the flat is excellent being just around the corner from Place Carnot in La Bastide.
The flat is on the first floor of an old building accessed by a communal entrance. The only natural light is via windows to inaccessible open areas surrounded above by several stories of the building. This means the flat is very dark requiring artificial light for much of the time.
The daytime living/cooking/eating space is adequate for 4 persons though 1 will need to sit on a dining chair.

One good bedroom contains a double bed and adequate storage / furniture but the other bedroom is very small and bare containing a metal 2 person bunk bed and no furniture. Although suitable for children this room is not suitable for less mobile adults/retirees.
There is an automatic washer, modern cooker and hob, spacious fridge, crockery but only 2 bowls and 2 cooking pans.
Some redecoration is required although the flat is clean.
The bathroom / shower whilst basic is adequate.
In summary not what we were expecting though we enjoyed the Carcassonne sunshine and flat price is cheap.

  • The apartment is just a block away from the centre of Carcassonne which we found better than staying in the old walled city. You can walk up there to see it and eat but there is much more to see and do in the main part of town. The apartment was spacious and well equipped. We did not meet Frank but Lisa was very helpful with her recommendations. Parking was close under Place Gambetta plus it was secure and cheap. Visit La Ferme for an amazing array of French wine, food and kitchen ware- just a couple of blocks away. 4 or 5 hours cycling on the Canal Midi with lunch and coffee by the canal in Trebes was very pleasant. Bikes from Generation VTT on the left just before the canal as you head to the railway station.

  • I stayed in franks apartment with my husband and 2 boys - it was perfect for us as it was very spacious, centrally located and right by the market and local shops. It was indeed charming- spotless, nicely layed out and decorated with a comfortable double bed. We were met with the keys by Lesa who was very helpful and accommodating on arrival and departure times. There is parking on the street out side but it is limited time wise however once you have unloaded you can leave your car for free about 5 mins walk away. We had a great stay and would definitely recommend it. Really good value for the money.

  • My boyfriend and I spent 3 nights in Carcassonne in this lovely apartment. It's very central, right in the centre of the lower city around the corner from Place Carnot. Carcassonne is very compact anyway but the location made everything really easy to get to! The apartment itself is very comfortable with everything you need. It's quite spacious for 2 with a big bedroom and living space. There's also another bedroom should you need it. The kitchen is very well equipped if you fancy cooking. Lesa, Frank's rep in Carcassonne, is very friendly and there to help in anyway she can. Would definitely recommend it:)

  • Had a great few days in Carcassone when Lesa managed to find us an alternative appartment when our original AirBnB flat had a plumbing problem. We found the flat very well equipped and in a perfect position for enjoying both La Cité and the Bastide. Comfy beds, quiet though just minutes from the central square with markets and restaurants

  • Apartment was very well equipped. Even had a washing machine. Everything worked. Very clean and spacious. Very safe neighborhood. Supermarket very close. Plaza very close. Very quiet. One of the best part is his rep Lesa Le Berre. She will will make you very comfortable and see to your needs. We are from the states and do not have a European cell phone. We communicated by email. She replied within 3 minutes of email regardless of time of day. We asked about a coffee maker, like I said we are from the states. Next day she showed up with it. I blew the circuit breakers, wet hands and electricity does not go well. She was there in minutes to reset it. We had drove in from Barcelona. Pretty tired. She was there to greet us even though we were 3 hours late. This is the first time renting using AirBnB and it was a great experience because of her. Everything in Carcassone is very close. The old city is about 15 minutes distance. Museums and Tourist Bureau is 5 minutes. Great restaurant La Roulette, fantastic meal, is around corner. Parking garage is safe and very close. Parking across the main street is free.
