Mary Ann is a great hostess! She is quite knowledgable about Seward, surrounding hikes, tours, and restaurants. Very accommodating. Breakfasts were swell. We really enjoyed our stay!
I greatly appreciated being able to stay at Arctic Paradise B&B - great location, very reasonable price, wonderful accommodations, terrific breakfasts, and friendly (but not invasive) host. Mary Ann worked with me to make sure I could find the house easily (I was arriving at 1:00 AM), and had everything set up so I could get into my room easily. I loved all of the attention to detail - like having coffee machine pre-loaded so that all I had to do was punch the "on" button when I was ready for it, and having a plated breakfast waiting in my refrigerator each day, and a place laid at the table in my room (with CLOTH napkins!). In addition, Mary Ann provided a broad cross-section of local information brochures, and included some local videos (fjord overviews, Mt Marathon annual run, ...) that really helped me get my bearings and understand a bit more about Seward. I hope the space is open again when I return to Seward in the future.
This place is very comfortable to stay with anything you need and Mary Ann is a nice lady can help you plan first and can cook good breakfast. It's near the Exit Glacier with only about 30 mins drive. And there is also close to other attractions, such as Chugach forest, two lakes park, port, Sea life center, which are also good places to go. And the kitty is friendly to visitors too. In sum, staying here is a right choice.
That is absolutely a pleasure to stay with Mary Ann! She was nice , friendly and caring. And her house is totally sweet. With the different breakfast everyday, you can feel as if stay with your family!
There are two things about a place- the house and the host. In this case, both were perfect. The house- perfectly located- a few minutes walk to the harbour front and eateries. Mary Ann has a beautiful home- very tastefully done. Makes one feel right at home. Mary Ann herself. She went above and beyond for us. Thanks to her, we had a wonderful kayaking trip- we had originally booked with another company, but she went the extra mile in doing the research and recommending another, and doing the entire booking for us, which turned out fantastic. She is very warm, friendly and thoughtful. She makes an awesome breakfast as well, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you so much Mary Ann for making our trip so memorable. We will def come back.
If you are looking for a cozy, cute place in Seward. This is the place. Mary Ann has equipped a bedroom with studio conveniences such as TV, DVD, fridge, micro, table & chairs. It is a great location. We were there for one night after a kayak trip. One thing to note is the check-in time is 6pm. It wasn't a problem for us, but could be for some plans. Thank you for having us, Mary Ann!
Beautiful view and Mary Ann works very hard to make it as pleasant as possible
About the Host, Mary Ann
Hi! I live in the most beautiful place in the world and would love to share that with you! I am a wildlife biologist, artist, dancer, musician and entrepreneur. I have lived in Alaska for 11 years and started Arctic Paradise B&B in 2002.
My love of animals and nature led me to be a wildlife biologist which I have been doing for 25 years. With my local knowledge of the area, wildlife and other businesses, I can help you make the most of your trip by helping to set you up on some great adventures so that you can see some of the amazing scenery and wildlife of this area whether you want to do it by boat, air, underwater or on foot
I am a really creative person and love to create one of a kind stained glass wine and martini glasses and other items and also create one of a kind jewelry. I like to share that with you by serving your breakfast in stained glass dishes that I created and also offer wholesale prices on my artwork to guests.
I also love dancing and music, and started a music and dance company several years ago called Kaleido World Percussion and Dance. I’m a certified American Tribal Style Dance instructor and regularly teach others how to dance and play middle-eastern music on traditional drums and other instruments. Do you want to explore your creative side? Let me know and I am happy to give private lessons in music, dance or jewelry making during your visit.
Besides all the really fun stuff I already mentioned, I like to fly airplanes, scuba dive, kayak, hike, travel, collect wild berries and mushrooms and hang out with friends.
I have tried to make my B&B everything that I would want if I were traveling. It’s beautiful, comfortable, cozy, safe, private and unique. I hope you will come and visit! If you would like to know more, feel free to check out my (email hidden).
