The Space

Imagine sleeping comfortably in your beautifully decorated, cozy and quiet room with private bath surrounded by beautiful colors and stained glass. Enjoy a full home-made Alaskan healthy breakfasts and gourmet coffee served in one of a kind stained glass dishes made by your host at your own private dining table.

Browse the book of local attractions, maps and menus and discuss options for great local adventures with your host, a professional wildlife biologist, artist, musician and dance instructor. Decide to take a local boat tour of the spectacular Kenai Fjords National Park, go sea kayaking, hike a glacier or forest, go on a sled dog ride, visit Exit Glacier or go fishing for silver salmon or halibut. Or just browse local galleries, shops and museums.

After your host sets up your adventures for you, you can walk to most anything you decide to do. Maybe you choose to hike the famous Mount Marathon, up through a beautiful rain forest and up into a gorgeous alpine bowl, looking for birds, moose, bears or mountain goats? Walk to the trailhead a few blocks away.

Or stroll along the pathway along Resurrection Bay a few blocks away and look for sea lions, otters, whales and birds in route to downtown or the small boat harbor. Enjoy amazing view of oceans, mountains and glaciers. Have a fantastic day filled with the amazing scenery, wildlife and local hospitality and color.

When you return, your host provides great recommendations for local restaurants for dinner. Maybe you want to do a little private shopping and view the one of a kind stained glass art and jewelry made on site. Try on anything you like. Or maybe you feel like exploring your creative side and would like to take a private lesson in American Tribal Style Dance, learn how to play drums or learn to make jewelry?

Take an evening stroll along the waterfront or enjoy one of the colorful establishments for a beer or some music. Watch the cruise ship turn around right in front of the house.

Or relax and enjoy free wireless internet, TV with cable and internet apps and the library of Alaskan DVD's, movies and books provided in your room. Kick back; watch a movie with hot chocolate and some popcorn.

Finally, have a restful sleep in your antique bed, covered in fluffy flannel sheets, comforters and satin coverlets and dream about your next adventure.

The room has an antique double bed and is great for a single person or couple. A cot is available for traveling companions. It also contains a small refrigerator and microwave. Laundry service is available. The bath contains a shower and bathtub.

Arctic Paradise B&B has been in business since 2001. Newly remodeled in 2013. Price includes all taxes (11% sales and bed tax). Look forward to meeting you!

House Rules

Check in time is 6:30 sharp unless we make other arrangements. I can offer early luggage storage in my locked shed if needed. Check out time is 12 PM. You can come and go as you please. Breakfast is in the refrigerator in your room each day so you can eat on your own schedule. Microwave and dining table is in your room. Smoking is allowed outside. One cat is on the premises but is confined to a different area of the house unless you want to meet her:). I have a great high powered vacuum cleaner so no one has had problems that has pet allergies. The living room outside the bed and bath is open for occasional use. The kitchen is not open for guest use. I am happy to do laundry for you at the going rate per load in town. I change sheets and towels after 3 days. I refresh the room each day (new food, empty trash, make the bed, do the dishes). I just ask that you keep your room clean, lock the door when you go out and ask me before inviting guests to my home. Thanks!!
