The Space

The ‘Gothic Suite’’s [5.15m by 3.7m] colour scheme combines rich gold satin, duck egg blue and French grey to create a luxurious and feminine ambiance. Central to the room is a king-size, mahogany, four poster bed [1.6m by 2m] for comfort. The room is furnished with ornaments and antiques that are 18th century. An ancient Persian rug carpets the floor and the ceiling consists of medieval oak beams.

The olive and white bathroom is made of exclusive, Italian pure-white marble and ancient hand carved Gothic panels. It provides a walk in wet area, toilet, king-size bath and two ‘his & hers’ sinks, towel rails and large gilt mirrors.

The medieval bastide of Lautrec is just 5 minutes away, with a boulangerie, épicerie, boucherie and atmospheric cafes, restaurants and bars. Within 90 minutes drive are all three UNESCO world heritage sites of Carcassonne, Albi and Toulouse.

The entire suite is private and lockable with
a corridor that connects the bathroom to the
bedroom. Outside the suite is immediate
access to the large ‘Salle du Seigneur’ sitting-
room reserved for guests.

Rate includes continental breakfast, tea and coffee facilities and internet access. An extra
beds can be added to the room for a small fee.
Meals, beverages, refreshments and English

  • Alison, Paul and staff were all very friendly, helpful & accommodating. They provided good recommendations regarding local restaurants, local history, walking trails, etc. The chateau is historic, spacious and furnished beautifully. Our accommodation exceeded our expectations. Thank you Alison and Paul!

  • The chateau's host, Grant, gave us the warmest welcome and took care of us in a most thoughtful manner. He is an asset to the chateau!

  • This place is fantastic! We were made to feel really welcome by Grant, who gave us loads of really useful advice and recommendations on the area (Grant - the suggestion to go to Saint-Antonin- noble-val was brilliant, our favourite little town of the whole trip and well worth a visit! - thanks!) This place eeks history, has been really lovingly restored but still has it's original rustic charm. Lautrec is also a really charming little town, and a very lovely 30min walk away (handy after all that wine tasting!) We'd love to come back one day...

Mille merci :-)

  • We were lucky to visit when we did as we had the whole place to ourselves, apart from Alison, Grant and Jennifer. We were welcomed with easy grace and were stunned by the beauty of the restoration of the chateau and the stories we were told of its history. This is a perfect location from which to explore the entire area, which so very beautiful. Lautrec is a lovely village and there are good restaurants in that town and others nearby.

  • Estuvimos una noche y tanto el trato como el castillo fueron inmejorables. Es un lugar precioso y cuidado al detalle. El desayuno estupendo.

  • This chance to live in a completely restored Chateau from the middle age was a really "once-in-al-ifetime" experience.
We enjoyed every second of our three-days-stay in this wonderful part of France.
    Kind Regards

  • ALison and Paul's chateau was a fabulous place to stay to explore Lautrec and surrounding the Tarn and midi Pyrenees. From the moment we walked in we felt like we were part of a group of wonderful friends, we came and went as we pleased, swam in the pool, were included lovely conversations while sipping on some lovely wine and allowed to enjoy our own space when we wanted time out. We meet other guests and friends over a lovely breakfast on the terrace. They have the art of making you feel like a friend but treating you like a special guest. We did not want to leave and would go back in a second if we could. We would definitely go back if the opportunity ever arose again.
