The Space

Great location steps to Trout Lake park, short walk to Commercial Drive's cafes and shops.
Trout Lake hosts a local farmers market every Saturday, all summer long.
The park is an unexpected oasis for such a central location,
Close to transit, (7 minute walk to skytrain) quiet, private yard, all the usual perks, internet, laundry, flatscreen with cable....no dishwasher though...can't have it all !
Lots of parking
This is a 2 bedroom , one bathroom basement suite in a 1950's style house. The upper level is rented to a quiet professional couple.
Ideally, each room accomodates two people, a couple with a child can take the larger room, and I can provide a foam mat as well,
breakfast is basic....coffee /tea. toast /peanut butter/ jam etc, note that the Commercial Drive is near and has a huge selection of cafes & restaurants ,

what I offer : room with a queen bed @ $70.
room with a double bed @ $60 ,
or take the entire 2 bedroom suite, @130. and I will vacate. I prefer a maximum of 4 people if you take both bedrooms.
no pets or smoking please,
french also spoken....but rusty!

PLEASE CONSIDER THAT I HAVE 2 ROOMS AVAILABLE FOR MY GUESTS,
THE AIRBNB CALENDAR REFERS TO ONE ROOM ONLY, SO PLEASE CONTACT ME
EVEN IF YOU SEE THAT FOR THE PERIOD REQUESTED THE ROOM IS NOT AVAILABLE,
MOST LIKELY , IT IS
thanks

  • Paul's place was exactly what we expected. It was clean, spacious and accommodating. Paul was an excellent host. It was like having your own personal Yelp for Vancouver. Restaurants, cafes, bars; Paul was a wealth of knowledge and all were within walking distance of what we wanted to enjoy that night. I will definitely be staying at Trout Lake (Haven) again! My friends and I loved it! Muchas Gracias, Paul!

  • I came back to Paul's place after a first stay a while ago. First of all big thanks to Paul who is very responsive, and time was of the essence for me because I submitted my booking on the same day of my arrival. About the place : it is the same great place. Very clean, comfortable. Easily accessible with public transportation (skytrain or bus on Broadway). I love the immediate proximity of a large Park where I went running in the morning. Thanks a lot Paul.

  • Paul is so great, nice and kind, and he tried his best to help us find the location of the house. He is really a wonderful host and accommodating. Would definitely recommend staying at either of his houses and would definitely go back. He is very knowledgeable and helpful about local tourist sites, restaurants and whatever one needs. Everything was super clean and Paul is a very interesting person to have a chat with. Thank you again!

  • It's the second time I have stayed at Trout Lake with Paul, and will DEFINITELY stay here again next time I return to Vancouver. It's a great location, right beside a beautiful park with a lake and plenty of open space to walk, and the sky train is near-by.
The room was neat and clean with full use of the kitchen and living room, and a washing machine was available.
Paul is a welcoming, relaxed host. He respects his guests privacy, but is always ready to help with information about Vancouver, or getting around the city! I enjoyed the time I spent with him. DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED!

  • It was great and easy to stay at Paul's place. We liked the nice rooms with everything you need, the garden place by the house and the surrounding park was specially loved by our son. We could really relax from the long flight and explore vancouver from there. Thanks!

  • Paul's place is everything I could've hoped for in an Airbnb pad in Vancouver: clean, quiet, and centrally located. I met him briefly at the end of the stay, and he's a gracious, helpful host—which I already knew from his correspondence and notes laid out before my arrival. I would definitely stay here again!

  • The room was very dirty so that we did not stay. We left and went somewhere else. It is difficult to compare the other posts as being a great place to stay when we found it to be dirty, bed was not comfortable, and the bathroom looked like it had not been cleaned in weeks. We would not recomend it to anyone.

  • I actually only met Paul one time. Originally, there were going to be four of us staying in the house and we would have spent more time there. As things worked out, there were just two of us and we left about 9 am and got back after 10pm. I will say that they house was neat and well taken care of.

Would do it again with the same host.

  • Paul was able to meet us when we arrived and was super friendly! The place is nice and clean and deposits of Vancouver maps and pamphlets could be found in every room; and he gave us some great suggestions for streets to hang out on and places to go eat. If I find myself in Vancouver again, I will definitely be looking here for lodging!
