Check In
We mostly stayed at night since we were gone most of the day but the place was mostly as described. Check-in and check-out was super easy. Bed was comfortable and the street was quiet. Eada was very polite and communicated very well with us. Just a few issues. I thought the A and C subway would be a bit closer based on the description (ended up being about a mile away so we had to take an Uber to get to the subway, especially at night). Also thought there would be a bit more privacy between the upstairs and the downstairs area. The surrounding area was quiet but not exactly tourist friendly in terms of amenities. Thankfully Uber/Lyft drivers were always around so get us to where we needed to go.

Great space in a cool location. Unique and accommodating bottom floor of a brownstone. Simple and clean. Transit and great brunch places are a 10-15 minute walk.

Great value for money. We had our 1,5 and 4,5 year old kids with us and especially Eada's backyard worked out well for us. We could have the kids there safe while eating breakfast or making ourselves ready for sight-seeing. The first night we arrived there was the coolest NY blockparty and we were very warmly invited to join Eada and her friends. Warm and open hearted people who helped us with all the questions we had. Kitchen had all the items we needed and although the flat itself was not brandnew it was for us a great value for money.

We are from the UK and just returned from a 7 night stay at Eada's. It was my daughter and I and the trip was for her 21st birthday. Eada's place is just as described, very clean and fully equipped with everything you need, toaster, iron, hair dryer etc and coffee machine! The sofas were very comfy and after our long long days of sight seeing it was just what we needed! The bed was very comfortable too! My only criticism would be the security and locks on the doors, being 2 females in a strange area the first couple of nights we were a little jumpy of every noise! Also as on the previous reviews there is no lockable door between the apartment and the rest of the house. There was no issues, just us feeling apprehensive! The nearest subway is about 20mins walk and plenty of grocery stores/shops/takeaways nearby. We went to Captain Dans Diner which was only a couple of blocks away, sat outside with a beer and a burger, was fab! I would recommend Eada's place, its great! We saw a great insight Bed-Stuy, loved every minute!

This is a large and easy to use apartment with all you need for a base. Eada is a great hostess - helpful and kind, there if you need her but not invading your privacy in any way.

I'd like to start by saying Eada and her Brother Jonathan were both very accomodating and welcoming. I arrived in NY at 8am and I couldn't check in early due to the room being used. However Eada allowed me to drop my bags off while I went and explored the city. Unfortunately upon arrival there was a dead rat at the gate and the area it's self wasn't the cleanest. Also the photos are not accurate as the place is a lot older than what the photos suggest. Once inside though it was nice and cosy, had all the ammenities I needed included a kitchen and washing machine. The bed was comfy and shower was hot, I had already been traveling for 3 weeks so having a washing machine to do a load of washing was great. The location is also a lot further than what is suggested in the listing. It takes between 15-20 min to walk to the subway depending on which station you need to get to, and the ride in is another 30min at least. Each trip into Manhattan could take between 45-60 min. Overall the place was clean and had everything I needed. Eada checked in on me which was nice and even brought down a A/C for me as the weather was quite warm during my stay. If you don't mind traveling an hour to get to Manhattan this is a good option. My next visit I'll be staying closer to Manhattan. Thanks Eada for the stay.

I truly recommend staying here. It's so comfortable. Close to the bus services that seem to be regular and timely. It's a 10min or so walk to metro. Eada and her family are great. So helpful and friendly. The apartment has character and we felt very much at home here. I think most things you need are provided, such as towels etc. Local supermarket 2 blocks away on Gates Av. It's right near the B52 bus to manhattan. If you like Chinese food I recommend New Hardee Chinese takeaway few mins walk away. We will definitely consider staying again in the future.
