This house is very unique not only because of its proximity to the ski resort, but also the feeling of warmth (like being at home) you receive when you walk through the front door. Plenty to do in the non-skiing months at this resort as well such as golfing, fishing and hiking. Wintergreen Lodge and Spa is also in vicinity.

I would like to start by saying this was a great house for large groups. Plenty of room for our group of 10 for two nights. Common areas were spacious. No one felt cramped. The kitchen was great and the location was gorgeous. Karen and the other owners seemed very nice, contacted us ahead of time and provided a very helpful Welcome Letter. Unfortunately, there were a few issues that need to be pointed out: 1. Their were not enough/matching fitted sheets for all of the beds. This resulted in some people not sleeping on fitted sheets and also required members of our group to search all over the house to find them. Not a huge deal, but needed to be pointed out as they stated in the description and Welcome Letter that there were sufficient linens; 2. The grill did not work properly. This was more of an issue as we had brought food to grill for Saturday night and resulted in our dinner preparation taking considerably longer (several hours) than we anticipated; and, 3. The owners were not in the area to respond to our concerns. This compounded the problems identified in 1 and 2 above. I hate to be critical because it is a great house that was wonderful for large groups and the owners appear to be very nice people, but feel as though potential renters should be aware of these issues. We had a great time in Wintergreen despite it being 45 degrees and raining on Saturday (the house was very cozy and kept us warm), and hopefully the owners will address the issues above because besides those problems we had a wonderful time. I provided a 3 star review (wanted to do 3.5) but if it were not for the issues above which all can be fixed, it would have been a 5.
Thank you for your review Joshua. I contacted our house keeper regarding the mix-up with the sheets. She has found complete sets of sheets for all 7 beds and verified this by sending me pictures of them all. All sets of sheets have been placed in the each closet of the bedrooms. Our gas grill will be fixed or replaced. Sorry for your inconveniences. We hope you will rent from us again in the future.
Our stay at Karen's home was a nice and relaxing weekend. She communicated well leading up to our stay. Her home was well described and had plenty of room for our group. I go to wintergreen multiple times a year and would stay here again.
Karen's check in and check out procedures were the easiest by far! I enjoyed talking to her on the phone prior to our visit. Her home was spacious, comfortable, and homey. We had a wonderful Easter weekend.
Karen's Wintergreen house was perfect for a getaway weekend with friends! It had a beautiful view of the mountains and was so warm and open- perfect for a group! The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed, and Karen was very easy to get in touch with and answer any questions!
My wife and I stayed at Karen's place for 5 days and 4 nights, along with 3 other couples. The house is very spacious and comfortable even for 8 of us.
We stayed in mid Feb and the house was just like in the pictures (covered in snow), beautiful surroundings, quiet neighborhood 4 minutes away from Wintergreen slopes.
She was very nice in giving us tips and being reachable.
The house is equipped with EVERYTHING you could possibly need.
I highly recommend her house, we had a great time.
Karen was a great host! Gave great instructions for the house and check-in/out was a breeze. Lovely house that suited our needs well!
The house was in a great location so close to the slopes and had a nice view. There were plenty of extra blankets and linens. It worked very well for our group, which had a several young kids. There were actually toys stashed in the closets and the older kids loved the bunk bed. The game room downstairs was great. The driveway is steep but they made sure to salt it for us which was very nice, so it was not a problem. Overall, great place to stay. Karen was very nice, attentive and made sure we felt right at home.
