For starters, what was advertised is not what was given with regards to the terms & conditions. The host inexplicably changed the rules multiple times in the days leading up to the date of arrival. We arrived to find that the place was used the day prior for another event, and they left behind all their trash to which we had to clean up ourselves. No keys are given for any door in the unit (which proved to be a problem when without reason the bathroom door locked and was unable to be opened), and communication with the host was minimal and at odd hours of the day. As he does state in the description the furniture has been changed, as this unit is now used as office space. Therefore be advised that the area is not as tidy and clean as advertised in the pictures (writing on the walls). While advertised for events (for up to 30 people) this was not the case, and contrary to most airbnb bookings where you receive a total of 24 hrs for your stay we were forced out before we even completed 12. Apparently he only allows daytime visits (something not specified in the description). He also keeps a "scout" in the building, who was rude and intruded in our event and over exaggerated the events that took place. Due to the bathroom door locking on us, and fear of not knowing if someone was inside we forced the door open which caused minor damage to the unit. We immediately made contact with the host to make him aware of the issue and to assume responsibility of the costs. To which the host came back with a multitude of incorrect feedback based on the comments of his "scout," never have I been more falsely accused. Regardless we kept an open line of communication, but the host was adamant about charging us more for damages than what we paid for the unit ($700+ not even for 24 hours). We deemed this to be absurd, and made a very reasonable counter offer that constituted the cost of the damage and the labor. After much back and forth, and our insistence on sticking to our offer he finally decided to settle. All honesty for anyone considering this booking, i urge you to ask the right questions first. Be advised that although it is an ample loft space, the unit is within what is now a residential building (although there are businesses as well) and noise is easily heard throughout the hallways from other units. It appears noise complaints are common, and after the pressure from his scout and the doorman we decided to shutdown our event. Regardless we left the place just as we found it, if not better than the condition we received it. I would advised anyone to think twice before booking, I wouldn't entertain the idea again.

Arman and the space were great! We shot a film in the studio, had plenty of resources and space to work with. It's a quiet environment, large, and easy to work in. We had a great experience, and we'll definitely be back.

Very nice and large place. Perfect for large group. It is located 2 min off the path train, very convenient 10 or 15 minute ride to NYC. It s the perfect alternative to small NY apt. I recommend it.

I live and work at a marketing agency in Jersey City, NJ.

I am a lifetime New Yorker (born and raised), who has lived in every neighborhood in and around the city, from Park Slope, to the Upper West Side, to Upper East Side to Long Island City to (now) Jersey City. I am a serial Entrepreneur, who has started four companies, sold one and currently juggling several fairly innovative ventures.

Grove Street (Waterfront), Jersey City is an amazing neighborhood - safe, lively, hip and close to NYC for a comfortable work commute.

I write's a blog - called March Fourth Blog - which is all about his philosophy of being positive and determined, regardless of what challenges life brings; with all the changes that we're facing, the tagline of "Innovation, Illumination and Inspiration in the modern world" speaks to what drives him.

Traveling is an eye and mind-opening experience, and typically stimulates some of my best ideas. I write and read a lot while traveling, but also try to put down the accessories and just soak in new cultures, people and places through just "being there".
