About Clearwater:
Clearwater and its island beaches are one of Florida's most popular vacation spots - featuring award winning beaches, warm tropical breezes, breathtaking sunsets, a temperate and mild climate and a safer, more affordable, quieter and calmer destination. Clearwater offers extensive water recreation and both nature-based and land-based attractions, a wide-variety of special events, a unique history and culture, and accommodations for everyone's style and budget.

Top Ranked Beaches
Clearwater Beach has been named the "Best City Beach On The Gulf Of Mexico" by experts. Caladesi Island and Sand Key beaches have been named among the best natural beaches in the United States. Caladesi Island State Park is currently ranked #1 and previously placed second, primarily for its water quality, rustic charm, clean beaches, on-site amenities and its emphasis on wildlife. (email hidden) readers ranked Clearwater Beach in their Top 10 list of best beaches from Maine to Hawaii. Cond‚ Nast Traveler has also recognized Clearwater Beach as the best city beach on the Gulf of Mexico.

Sunsets at Pier 60
Every evening the place to be is Pier 60 in the heart of Clearwater Beach. For two hours before sunset and two hours after, artisans, street performers, musicians and more take over the activity center of Clearwater Beach.
Beach Walk is a winding beachside promenade with lush landscaping, artistic touches and clear views to Clearwater's award-winning beach and the water beyond, a place where bicyclists, rollerbladers and pedestrians all have safe and convenient access and where visitors and locals can socialize, dine, play games, or simply enjoy the spectacular sun and surf.

Unspoiled and protected, our beautiful and natural parks are refuges for birds, mammals and humans alike. Brooker Creek Preserve's 8,500 acres are home to more than 160 bird species, 20 amphibians, 50 reptiles and 40 mammals, many of them rare or listed as protected in Florida and/or the nation. Weedon Island Preserve's 1,500 island acres offers 9 miles of hiking trails, 4 miles of canoe and kayak trails, a fishing pier, observation platforms and an elevated boardwalk providing an intimate view of the flora and fauna of Florida.

The Gulf of Mexico and our rivers offer watchable wildlife. Approximately 2,600 manatees inhabit our springs, bays and canals, feeding on aquatic plants. Everyone's favorite, the Atlantic bottlenose dolphin, can be seen cavorting with beauty and grace. Alligators can be found in some freshwater areas of the county. And over 300 species of fish swim in our waters.

  • We really enjoyed our 5 night stay here. Beautiful little appartment, very quiet, comfortable and thanks to the hosts, everything you could need. We were even allowed to borrow beach chairs! I would highly recommend this to everyone, as well as the appartment is in a good location (we had a car) and so many activities were nearby. We hope to be back one day- Thanks to Bruce and Melody!!

  • The carriage house is a lovely studio apartment as advertised, more beautiful in person than in the photos. The garden is lovely and creates a peaceful environment. Located in a quiet neighborhood right off of the main roads. Plenty of towels and kitchen necessities provided for your stay. Highly recommended

  • We really enjoyed our stay at the Carriage House! The apt was just the perfect size for the two of us and our 7 month old. It was a nice distance from the beach, just about a 10 minute drive without traffic. We wanted to enjoy some other activities besides the beach during our weekend stay so the location was just what we were looking for. Quiet neighborhood. My wife's favorite part of the apt was the kitchen, she loves places with charm and she was in love with the massive porcelain kitchen sink.
    Thanks for hosting us!

  • The apartment was exactly as described. While the apartment is small, 2nd floor of a two car garage, we found it fully sufficient for our two month stay. The lower level contained the laundry and a storage area. The neighborhood is quit with little traffic. Bruce is more like a friend than a landlord. He was very accommodating and helpful. We loved the Clearwater area there is so much to do. We had our car with us but the public transportation system is great.

  • L'appartement est très agréable, bien aménagé et bien équipé. Tout était très propre. Il ne manquait qu'un balcon extérieur pour que la note soit parfaite.

  • The space was very clean and cozy, it was great that Bruce was familiar with what people traveling in the area might need and had a whole guidebook on tips, he was also very available when you have questions and also accommodating. The location is nice and close to the beaches and a bunch of great restaurants. I had a wonderful stay here, wish I could've stayed longer! It was the perfect place for a getaway. I would definitely recommend!!

  • We really enjoyed our stay at the Carriage House!! It felt like a home away from home. It was so much more private, peaceful and comfy than coming back to a hotel every night. It was so close to the downtown Clearwater area and the biking/running trails. We could literally walk to so many places. The accommodations were so pleasant and unique, designed to be peaceful and relaxing. I loved that I had a laundry room with beach supplies at my disposal. Bruce was very helpful as we had a few maintenance issues that were quickly and easily resolved.

  • A great place to stay if you want a Clearwater vacation but don't want to pay hotel prices! The carriage house is a very sweet little studio apartment, perfect for a single person or couple, tucked away behind the main house. It's not the most modern, spick-and-span place, but it is charmingly decorated and was perfect for our laid-back beach vacation. We stayed for two weeks and felt very much at home there. The location is great, right by a big supermarket, very close to downtown Clearwater and only ten minutes' drive from the beach - but note that you do need a car to get around. Bruce lent us beach towels, chairs and umbrellas, which we were really grateful for, and he lives on the same street so if we needed anything, he was very nearby. Great hosts and a lovely place to stay!

  • The carriage house is fantastic. It has everything you need, in a safe and quiet neighborhood, and close to the bike trail, beaches, and shops. Bruce & Melody are kind and accomodating, and have made our stay all the more enjoyable.

We own a software company specializing in digital dictation and transcription solutions. Our "hobby" has been renovating old homes here in the Magnolia Park neighborhood of Clearwater. We have 3 vacation rental properties that we maintain ourselves. One of our daughters and her family live 2 doors down from us, with 3 grandchildren that keep us hopping. We love the location - close to downtown Clearwater, yet just a short ride to the beautiful beaches of Clearwater, Indian Rocks and Dunedin (Caladesi Island and Honeymoon Island). We love to bicycle, boat, swim, and enjoy fun times with our family and friends! We hope you can make it to our special part of the Gulf Coast that we call home...
