For a unique and relaxing get away, try the barn and cabin. We were two couples, each with 6 year olds. We all had the best time being unplugged. The birding was great as was playing in the creek, taking short hikes around the property and doing a day trip into Asheville. Lasting…

Great place to relax and unwind a bit. We settled in and soaked in the surroundings while we soaked in the comfy tub. The kids found salimanders, crawfish, and other various Creek critters in the refreshing water for hours. There is great outdoor space when the weather is toler…

This was our 2nd visit, and it was just as enriching as the first (minus no feline companionship), we enjoyed soaks, trails, treasure hunts, we ventured into Hot Springs for groceries/supplies and were impressed with some local fare at the Spring Creek Tavern. We also made a pit …

Thank you, Don, for a great time. We spent every minute at the property either by a raging fire or hiking. Everything was well thought out and useful.

Don's place was the perfect getaway. He was very responsive and provided a great deal of information. I brought my older son and 2 dogs. We all had a great time exploring the property. Look forward to making a return trip!

This is a unique and interesting place. One of the highlights was the isolation. It's not far off the road, but it's in a quiet valley. My kids and dog made plenty of noise, but at no time were we concerned about being "too loud". At night we did some stargazing, which was aw…

Response from Don:
This is a mostly accurate review. Thanks Clay. However, there are about 35 fruit and nut trees all along the creek and both sides of the driveway. Most were not fruiting during this guest's visit. The pricing inaccuracy this guest mentions involved the pet cleaning fee and split firewood and cleaning fee for the hot tub, each of which is $50. Until this guest called my attention to it, it was shown as $50 in one place on the Airbnb site and $40, the old price, in another. That has been revised so only the correct price now $50 is shown.

Most of my life I lived in the Northeast. One summer, I realized I could just as easily work from a beautiful place in the mountains as I could in the urban duplex where I woke to the sound of buses and fell asleep to my neighbor’s radio. In 2008, I moved to Asheville, NC. …
