Sweet and Charming One Bedroom in Toronto's West-End
This lower level (half basement) apartment is spacious, clean and bright with a large kitchen, living room and bedroom with hardwood floors, and a bathroom with claw-foot tub. It's cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
The kitchen is large and well-quipped with a new stove and fridge, lots of counter space and all the pots/pans/spices/oils you need to cook! There is a coffee maker waiting for you and a waffle iron if you feel the urge.
The living room has new hardwood floors, a comfy sofa and large desk. If you're keen, push the coffee table (antique trunk) aside and roll out your yoga mat!
The bedroom is an uncluttered room with hardwood floors, a double bed, a dresser and wrack for your clothes. The bathroom is simple with its antique clawfoot bathtub, toilet and sink.
The building is owned by two actors, and consists of six one-bedroom apartments. It's very quiet and private here.
You will have access to the entire apartment. There is wifi, but no TV or cable. And there is no laundry in the building. The laundromat is about a 20 second walk.
Interaction with Guests
As long as I am in town, I will greet the guests, show them around and then let them be. If I am not able to to greet them, we'll speak in advance and arrange a key pick-up spot.
Located in the west end of Toronto, very close to public transit and fun and trendy parts of town (Dundas & Ossington, Little Italy, and newly hip Blansdowne).
The neighbourhood is incredible! Over the last five years things have boomed around us. This apartment is in a quiet bubble about 2-5 minutes away from really exciting parts of town. It's ideal for those who want to be close to the action, but not right in its midst.
The apartment is just south of Dufferin Grove Park--a wonderful community place that hosts many events throughout the including the Cooking Fire Theatre Festival, Bike Polo, Community Dinners (every Friday night) and the ORGANIC FARMERS MARKET (every Thursday from 3-7PM) among many other fantastic events. They also have fire pits that you can rent for an evening for very reasonable prices.
There are MANY incredible, locally owned cafes, restaurants and bars within minutes of the place (see my guidebook for really close recommendations). Just beyond those places, this apartment is within walking distance of the up-and-coming/really artsy: Bloor & Lansdowne, the uber hip: Dundas & Ossington, and the always reliable Little Italy and Little Portugal, with its incredible custard tarts!
The apartment is very close to all forms of public transit: 30 seconds from the closest College Street Car stop, 30 seconds from the closest Dufferin Bus stop, and an 8 minute walk to the closest Subway stop (Dufferin Station).
There is city permit parking available on the streets close to the apartment. I have helped guests purchase and print these permits upon their arrival. The price is around $60/week for 24hr parking in the neighbourhood.

We loved staying with Haley. Her space was adorable and she had lots of great suggestions for things to do in her very lovely neighborhood. We felt like we really lucked out staying here.
Haley's place was really lovely. It had everything you need if you wanna have a cozy and nice place to live in Toronto. A kitchen with everything you wish for, very cute livingroom and calm bedroom; also a bedroom with a bathtub and shower. Haley was a great host, she always answered my questions very fast and helpful.
I recommend this place! I will come back.
although we never met in person, Hayley was a very helpful host and communicated well with us throughout our stay. The place is lovely, very homely and welcoming. Such a comfortable wee place, i wish i could have stayed longer.
I am a theatre artist living in the west-end of Toronto, and when I am out of town working I sublet my place to non-smoking individuals who don't mind watering my plants once a week.
