The space
Relax in a private home surrounded by the beauty of the Ozark Foothill woods. You’ll enjoy the outdoor living just as much as the indoor! Light continental breakfast is included with your visit featuring organic coffee and tea, asstd breads with jam or honey, milk and juice, eggs, yogurt and granola, waffles and syrup and assorted cereals. There are smart televisions in the living room and both bedrooms for streaming or watching Amazon, Netflix, Tubi, ABC, CBS, and multiple news sources. There are also dvd’s available in the guest bedroom closet for viewing. No Cable tv. Propane fireplace in living room available November through March. Access to washer and dryer with extended stay. Carport and added parking space for two cars. There is a walk path down to the bridge and another into the woods behind the house, both with fire pits. Wood May provided seasonally. I am minutes from the property if you need assistance and would be delighted to meet you!

I follow Airbnb’s enhanced cleaning protocol, which was developed with expert guidance. Here are a few highlights:

I sanitize high-touch surfaces, down to the doorknob.
I use cleaners and disinfectants approved by health agencies, and I wear protective gear to help prevent cross-contamination.
I clean each room using extensive cleaning checklists.
I provide extra cleaning supplies, so you can clean/disinfect as you stay.
I comply with local laws, including any additional safety or cleaning guidelines.

Did you know that Cherokee Village has seven lakes, two 18 hole golf courses, swimming pools, a natural spring, nature trails, two seasonal waterfalls, seasonal pontoon boat rentals on Lake Thunderbird, AND a fitness gym with pickle ball courts. Using some of these amenities requires a guest pass and a minimal fee. Please let me know and I will arrange one for you! Decorated for the holidays!

Location

Cherokee Village, Arkansas, United States

Cherokee Village was established as a retirement community in the 1950’s. It is quiet and peaceful and located on 15 acres of woods. There are seven lakes, a marina for renting pontoon boats on Lake Thunderbird, nature trails, a natural spring, two seasonal waterfalls, two 18 hole golf courses and pools. Hardy is within 15 minutes. It has an historic downtown area filled with antique shops and restaurants, Spring River floating and kayak rentals.

Check out my favorite local restaurants . . . Chow on the Square close to City Hall and Carol’s Lakeview across from Lake Thunderbird. Leaves & Beans, Spring River Draft House, Vanilla Cowgirl, and Artisan Grill are in Hardy. You will find more recommendations for local services in my guestbook and at Cherokee Village Town Center Visitor Center.

After owning and operating The Glenwood Village Tearoom and Gift Shop in Shreveport for 30 years, I decided to retire to this haven in the woods. My Louisiana business was featured in Southern Living Magazine, Fodor’s Travel Guide to the South and on the Travel Channel; so hosting and entertaining are what I love! Living here in Cherokee Village is an absolute delight. May I share this special haven with you? Come and enjoy the peace this special place in nature affords.
