It's a very comfort house to live in, nice environment, sweet home. I really enjoy the first night at Sri Lanka.
We had a nice stay at Dijens House. The House is huge, clean and comfortable. Thank you for welcoming and hosting us.
Our time at Dijens house was great. He and his wife were very friendly and helpful. The room was amazing huge and clean. We arrived very early in the morning but the check in was no problem. If we come to Colombo again we would love to stay at Dijens house again. Thanks for everything.
We stayed for 3nights in the beautiful house of Dijen and his family. We loved the furniture in our luxury room. Every place has its own sounds: we particularly enjoyed listening to the tune of Für Elise in the mornings - and loved it even more when finding out that it was the bread ritschka! The boys of the nearby collage were active in the morning too, we heard marching band and more.
Dijen was amazing in helping us find a driver to visit the cultural triangle, thank you!
The only small downside was the single speed fan (too fast).
It was a pleasure, indeed, to host you recently. Delighted to note that you had a pleasant stay with us recently. Trust you are having a good vacation in the island!. Do come again. Thank you for your kind Review. And do continue to 'explore the World!'. Kind Regards, Dijen.
Dijen is a fine gentleman and an excellent host. He made us feel at home, he was kind, helpful and gave us a lot of information. He has a beautiful house with good taste of deco. Very clean and cosy.
I must mention that the breakfast was plentyful and very tasty.
Very nice stay with very carrying people. The place is very nice and comfortable. The location is good and not far from one of the main streets. I would definitely recommend this place.
Amongst so many Airbnb accommodations in Colombo I chose "Luxury en-suite room" because I wanted to end my visit to Sri Lanka in a comfortable place.
I was very grateful when Dijen replied immediately that I could have a shower after checkout in the morning as my flight was late at night. After a long day in the hot and dusty streets, I was really glad to have a shower before my long flight home.
An interesting home. One side is where the host and his family lives. The other section is where the guests live with a sitting room, dining room and kitchenette.
Breakfast was generous and it was nice to meet other guests and exchange travel experiences.
Dijen was very helpful with the checkin and checkout and arranged a taxi to bring me to the airport.
However the word "luxury" is subjective and depends what your expectations are. The "luxury" room:
1) has a terrace filled with all the family's washing for the day.
2) faces a building under construction
3) is very warm despite the use of the aircon which is underpowered and does not cool down the room despite having to pay USD 15 per nite for the use of the aircon.
4) There is a ceiling fan which cannot be controlled and is very noisy. 5) The curtains are falling apart and the lights are blown and the room can be quite dark although the table lamp helps to brighten the room slightly.
6) an electrical socket which has a loose connection and sometimes works and sometimes does not.
If you can accept the above as a "luxury" ensuite room then yes….it is a comfortable place to stay with easy access to "tuk tuk"
It was a pleasure to host you recently. Thank you for your kind Review and suggestions. Delighted to note that your stay overall was ok. Regarding some of your useful comments, I would like to state that the price indicated for the room is a very 'basic rate' of USD 35/ single occupancy rate per night, and our residence here is a 'natural homestay environment' (and not a 5 star hotel environment so to speak...) where it is 'natural' where one would find some clothes washed displayed on and off in the open terrrace to dry out etc. Nearby Building under construction is beyond one's control as such things take place in most Cities today. Since the room is 'very large', I presume it would take some time for the Aircon to cool the room, and the extra USD 15/ Aircon charge per night is because electricity charges in Sri Lanka is very high!. Yes I would need to attend to some of the lights in the room. Overall for the 'very basic and average' room rate of USD 35/ single occupancy rate per night which is indicated online, I believe the facilities are good for a 'homestay experience'. Other suggested simple option is that if the guest wishes to pay a much 'higher room rate', then I guess one could stay in some of the 5 star hotels and hope for the best!. Thank you again for your useful comments, and wishing you all the Best!. Kind Regards, Dijen.
