I follow Airbnb’s five-step enhanced cleaning process, which is based on Airbnb’s cleaning handbook that was developed in partnership with experts. Here are a few highlights:

- I sanitize high-touch surfaces, down to the doorknob
- I use cleaners and disinfectants approved by global health agencies, and I wear protective gear to help prevent cross-contamination
- I refer to cleaning checklists to thoroughly clean each room
- I provide extra cleaning supplies, so you can clean as you stay
- I comply with local laws, including any additional safety or cleaning guidelines

We also have a 2nd farmhouse cabin on Airbnb. You can click on my profile to see this listing and check rates and availability.

Guest access
Guests will have full access to the property interior and exterior. The owner's home and a 2nd rental cabin are also on this 3-acre parcel but you'll have no line of sight with either of them. It's completely private. There is a private home that sits below the cabin, but you'll have to look down to see the roofline.

Other things to note
The road leading to the cabin is a one-lane paved road. There are only a few homes that use the road so it is highly unlikely you will meet another car going in the other direction. But if you do, there are places along the road for one or the other to back up or pull off to the side.

From November through March, there is a small chance it will get cold enough to snow. We get about 2-4 snowfalls each year, and the scenery is absolutely beautiful. It usually gets warm enough during the day to melt the snow, which means the roads are passable.

If there is a rare occurrence of snow or ice that makes our road impassable, or we know in advance of an incoming snow accumulation, we will give you flexible options to either reschedule, or cancel with full refund. Snow with impassable roads is a rare occurrence, and my highest priority during winter weather is your safety. Please reach out to me if you have any questions.

There is one Blink camera on the property facing the driveway. It is not video or audio. We use the camera on check out day to help our cleaner know when you have checked out (when we see that your car is gone) so she can start her day. Most check out days we don't use it at all, only if our cleaner has a tight schedule.

I moved to the beautiful Smoky Mountains of North Carolina in 2011 after working in the hospitality business for 28 years in Southwest Florida. I have always had a passion for the lodging business and had a vision to build a private getaway on my property to rent out to guests who want to sit back and relax in these beautiful mountains. Our first little guest cottage was completed in January 2017, and our second luxury farmhouse cabin was completed in July 2020. We look forward to welcoming you to our peaceful respite in the Smokies!
