Easy to travel from and to airport; quiet and safe neighbourhood; spacious and sunny room ; backyard for sun baking; easy going host with live music entertainment:-)
We would like to meet you and host your stay in your journey, happy 2014!
My place is great for guest from overseas, interstate or want to live in northern suburbs. If you like live in CBD, this one is not for you, if you are looking for someplace between airport and city, have free places to park your car, and like a spacious and quite place for some privacy, or not in rush and happy to travel 30 minutes on the train to city(like us local people do) , it is the perfect place for you.
As you see in the photos, the guest bedrooms in a two bedroom unit with 100sqm backyard(my green garden) is what you pick. This bedroom is airy and bright with huge windows. The unit is new painted, your room has a double bed, 6 drawers cabinet and a build in wardrobe, very firm mattress, big mirror, bedding will be nice and clean, and room is often decorated with fresh roses. Bathroom and kitchen are kept in 70's style with colorful tiles . All my neighbors are very friendly and lovely, You will be woken up by the birds every morning.
fast and unlimited wireless internet, fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, no dryer(they get dried very quickly on the lines in the backyard).
It is close to Melb Airport as well as City CBD. From Melbourne main airport is 15 -20 mins drive, by taxi is about AUD35 ( work out cheaper and quicker than catching the sky bus from airport to city if 2 people). from my place to city 13Kms which is about $20-30 by taxi depends on where you go of course. You can catch bus or train to city (30 mins train trip), 8mins lovely walk to the Keon Park station. Just to mention, we don't have TV, hope it won't bother you.
Local shops 5 mins walking distance are Chinese Restaurant, Italian Dairy product shop, Fresh vegetable and fruit shop, milk bar, and if you need big supermarket, that is 3kms away, can reach by train(2 stops), 2 big shopping mall is 10 mins drive away or couple of train or bus stops away. Also the nearby suburb Preston has big food market during Wed to Sat, and plenty of restaurants open till late every night and offers $10 meals! it is 4 stops on the same South Morang train line, so you could have dinner there on the way back from City if don't want to cook. If you love cooking, you have access to all the kitchen equipment, feel free to cook as much as you want.
It is close to Preston weekend markets, RMIT & La Trobe Uni Bundoora campus but not walking distance.
My parent used to live in the guest room, and mum used to cook guest dumplings. Now they are back in China, you will share the house with me and my partner Rob. Rob plays guitar in the sitting room some times, you are welcome to sing along if his country west style is to your liking :-)
We would love to open up our home to offer you a home away from home and joyful Melbourne experience.
We are all travelers on this planet, happy to make your journey brighter and happier!
Everything in the house, we open our home to you! （the price is for accommodation and facilities only, if you need food or use of telephone, we can provide with extra charges)
Interaction with Guests
We love to chat with guests and we always give them space and privacy as well . The good conversations often turn into cooking and eating dinner together:-)
The amazing thing about being the host is the privilege to be part of some strangers life for a short period of time :-)
The neighbours are quiet and friendly , plenty parking space on the street for free:-)
8-10 minutes walk to local train station, and half hour train ride you will be in city CBD . Melbourne is a big city, if you don't live in CBD, then train or bus will be the main public transportation. You can use MYKI card to get around for around $7 a day unlimited travel on public transport. If you drive, it is about 15-20 minutes trip from and to airport, and 20-30 minutes (13kms)trip to city.
Other Things to Note
Rob plays guitar and sings in the sitting room sometimes, hope you like country west music?
Be Happy and relaxed, enjoy your stay as much as you can!
I m here to host, you are here to enjoy!
Please enjoy the place and treat it as your own home. I haven't charged anyone cleaning fees, because they all have been treated my place with great care.
Diana and Rob is one of the nicest couple I've met, it's our first Airbnb experience. We couldn't be more satisfied. Rob offered us nice dinner when we arrived late n entertained my son with his guitar and good singing to make him relaxes in this new environment. We felt home n definitely recommend to any Melbourne new comers, it's very close to the airport and for cold days, electric blanket definitely helps a lot. They got nice garden too which you can see it from your room.
Diana and Rob are wonderful hosts and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay with them which was work related. They made me feel so welcome and I felt very much 'at home'. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Their home is very convenient for getting around. I hope to be able to return when my work takes me back to their area.
Diana and Rob are fantastic host and a lovely couple. The place very comfortable, even the weather quite cold (winter season) but in this house we feel warm. This house very clean and tidy, for location near to train station and airport. Diana very care and always concern of her guest needed even she was share her cooked to us. Overall, we highly recommended to stay here. nice to know you and thank you so much for your hospitality Diana&Rob
Both Diana and Rob were very helpful for me. They explained us everything we asked as we were new in the town. Their house was so lovely and comfortable and I like their electric blanket. We could hear Rob playing guitar on some nights; he played really nice. Overall, we were happy staying at Diana's house. Thank you for the hospitality. We highly recommend this place for people who are new to the city. Hope to meet you again. -Rischa&Aqma-
We really enjoyed our stay at Diana's place! Both Diana and Rob are extremely friendly :) They also allowed us to use their kitchen for cooking. The bed even had electric blanket that really helped during this winter at Melbourne.
