We loved the location and the place was just like the pictures show. We loved the light boxes and the paint treatment on the ceiling! We hope to stay again next time we are in Tampa.
We loved out stayed at speakeasy. Washer dryer helped us a lot with two kids house was very spacious for 2 adults and 2 kids really like the fact its close to the beach. They had chairs and umberlla that was very useful as well we had really good time at speakeasy..
This was our first AirBnB experience so we weren't really sure what to expect. Joel & Kelly were very helpful. Not sure we will every stay at a hotel again after such a perfect stay.
Stayed at The Speakeasy for 11 nights, half that time with my wife, half that time joined by my parents and my brother, and the entire time, we felt cozy and comfortable and right at home. Joel and Kelly have done a fantastic job renovating, and they've provided all that you need to make your trip–short or long–as enjoyable as it can be. For beach goers, The Speakeasy is set with all you need: a beach umbrella, beach chairs, and a cooler. The bungalow is in a quite neighborhood that is a close drive to local beaches, a neighborhood that has grocery stores, a fishmonger, eateries, and bars, and just two blocks south there is a lovely park with a lake and with tennis courts (look for the ospreys living in the lampposts above the courts). On cooler mornings, we would take our coffee out on the porch swing, watching sun come through the oaks and the Spanish moss, pretending that The Speakeasy was actually our own home–should we be back in the Clearwater area this is definitely where we'll try to stay.
We had a great time at the 'Speakeasy'; it's such a lovely and spacious bungalow in a quiet and convenient location (it takes ca. 10 min by car to get to Clearwater beach). We found everything we needed in the bungalow - from esentials such as towels and shower gel to milk, coffee and tea, and even an umbrella and chairs for the beach. Joel and Kelly left clear instructions on how to get into the bungalow and they were flexible about the check-out time which we really appreciated. We would definitely recommend their place!
Staying at Joel and Kelly's bungalow was fantastic! I grew up in Clearwater and was touched to see this pretty old house fixed up so nicely. The house is cozy, well-decorated, well-stocked, well-equipped and the sheets and bedding are excellent. The AC worked fabulously, thank god. Kelly was super helpful with baby equipment and a certain remote that was misplaced over the course of the last days. Really nice and accommodating. I hope to come back here when visiting my mom! Thank you very much!
What a fun time in Clearwater! The Speakeasy was beautiful inside and out. The photos just don't do it justice. We found everything we needed here, including beach chairs and an umbrella! We loved relaxing on the back deck in the mornings over coffee. The historic details of the home are incredible: beautiful hardwood floors, original windows, beadboard ceilings, etc. etc. etc. It is also beautiful decorated with antiques and modern pieces-- lending it an aesthetic that is both unique and functional.
It's very conveniently located to multiple public beaches: Clearwater Beach (of course) but also St. Pete's, Treasure Island, Sunset, and probably many more that we did not get a chance to visit.
I would highly recommend The Speakeasy to anyone looking for a comfortable, relaxing, convenient, and beautiful place to stay in Clearwater.
