The Space

Situated on the east coast of Ireland this town house in an estate of 30 newly built houses. It is situated 21 miles from Cork City and 4 miles from Midleton. Its a two roomed town house with the owner living in one of the rooms. There's one double room to let with a double bed and a camp bed. The house has all amenaties including WiFi, washing machine, etc.

Cloyne is a Sleepy village, it has ample parking and a quiet neighbourhood. We have a post office and chemist for any meds you need. The local shop is Centra and all your needs are met here. Its only 5 minutes walk to the shops in Cloyne. Ballymaloe house is only 10 minutes drive away and Trablogen Holiday village. We are 10 minutes from Midleton and 20 minutes drive from the city. The bus service is regular and the trains depart from Midleton on the hour. Also there is the Midleton Whiskey Distillery renowned for its pot still whiskey for over 150 years.

Cloyne has a round tower which is the town's symbol.The tower dates back to some were before 600 AD. In 1749 a lightning storm caused some damage to the top of the tower. There is also ruins of a Norman watchtower on a hill overlooking the town. The town Church is steeped in history - William Penn, the founder of Pennsylvania, spoke in the Anglican church.

The town is also notable as the native-place of the great Cork hurler, Christy Ring. Ring was born and grew up in Cloyne where he learned to hurl before joining Glen Rovers in Cork city. He is buried in Cloyne where he is commemorated by a handsome statue.
