Arriving at Venice beach (20 minutes from LAX with Uber) is a trippy experience after 11 hours in an air conditioned tube from cold English March: the sun, the sea, the palm trees, the stream of tourists and musicians and people selling weird stuff. Wendy's place is right in the heart of the action. You step out of the gate onto the boardwalk and join the flow left or right, or take five steps onto the beach. There are loads of places to eat within 10 minutes walk - I liked the Erwin hotel for supper (and sunset views) and the Fig Tree for breakfast (half price before 9am). If you get up at 7am the beach is quiet and empty, and you can go from bed to ocean in under two minutes.
Wendy was a very kind host, full of thoughtful advice about how I should make the most of my 24 hours in Venice. Although the living space is shared during the daytime, it felt private and comfortable at night. Very highly recommended!
The location cannot be beat and the bed is comfortable. If you're not planning to spend a lot of time inside--and you shouldn't be if you're headed to Venice--Wendy has the right place and is a gracious host. She also has great tips on where to eat, what to do and where to watch the sunset.
The reservation was canceled 8 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
I had a lovely time staying with Wendy. Her place has a great homey vibe and is in the perfect spot on the boardwalk. It's easy to get around either by bike or just walking. Wendy gave great recommendations and was a great resource especially since it was my first time in Venice. And she's so sweet! I would definitely stay with her again!
Fantastic location and hostess. Very bohemian in the best way. Would definitely go back.
WE ONLY STAYED ONE NIGHT...
WENDY WAS VERY HOSPITABLE & INFORMATIVE ABOUT THE AREA.
ENJOYED DRINKING TEA, EATING CHOCOLATE, & CROISSANTS FOR BREAKFAST THAT SHE PROVIDED.
THANK YOU FOR A PLEASANT STAY!!!

I was born in Los Angeles --also lived in Hawaii, Connecticut, and Canada! Now I'm back in my home town of LA & loving it! I am very blessed to be living right next to the beach! I can help you navigate the city of Los Angeles and other towns north- I lived in Santa Barbara up the coast for 10 years and also central California. I enjoy reading, theater, films, hiking, and biking. My life's motto is: Live, Learn & Love! Regarding Venice Beach, I know where all the fun, interesting, and hidden treasures are located --just ask!
